How Many lbs lost is considered a drop in size
How many lbs did you have to loose before you noticed a change in your pant size?

I suppose it depends on the person and the size of the person. I go down a size after I lose about 10 lbs, as well.

It depends on a lot of things-your height, your current weight, how much exercise you do, and your body type.
Someone who is pretty small (like a size 8) doesn't have to lose a lot of pounds to lose another size, because there isn't much on them to begin with. On the other hand-someone who is pretty large-over 200 pounds-may very well have to lose 15-30 pounds before dropping a size, since the weight is distributed over a larger area.
Someone short can drop a size with less pounds lost since the weight is over a smaller frame, someone who is very tall will have to lose more to drop a size because it is over a larger frame.
It is sort of like taking a cup of water out of a gallon-that is noticeable. Taking a cup of water out of a full bathtub...not quite as much.

Good Question Irishgirl, Ive been wondering that myself.. I think their right it depends on your size and how tall you are... I actually was up to 237 and Ive dropped from a 16 to a 14 in pants.. can't wait for those 12's, now if my top would cooperate.. lol

That is where body shape plays a huge part as well.
buttons-are you an "apple" shape and store your extra weight in the upper body and stomach area?
I am an "hourglass" shape and I wear a size 14 at 164 pounds. Going by your comments, you wear a smaller pants size than I, but I would guess a larger top/blouse size than I, correct?
I carry my weight in my hips and thighs, but also in my breasts and upper arms. I have a narrow torso though with well defined shoulders and waist.

Aphil, Im not sure if Id actully be called an apple I was just recently called an upside down Pear... lol most of my weight is in my stomach, waist and breasts.. I wear a size 18-20 top so that they can be loose fitting... age has not been kind to me since it put a tube of fat right around my middle.. lol The pant size is because I have narrow hips and NO butt...

This was how it went for me....
lbs = Size
230=18
215=16
190=14
175=12
160=10
145=8
All of these are approximate, I can't remember the exacts... Now that I look at it, it seems to be about 15lbs each. I am 5' 4 1/2" tall, have a large frame, big booty, and was wearing a 38D now a 36C (maybe could go down to 34C). I have always been heaver on my hips, booty, and thighs; although, I have adjusted well from the weight loss. All of my weight loss has been proportioned well, not just one place or another. I gain the same way, ALL OVER!
Everyone is different....

buttons-
I have heard your body shape called apple (big through the midsection/chest with thin legs and behind) , upside down pear, and inverted triangle. (wider part of triangle on top-a pear shape being a triangle with the narrow point at top, and wide point at bottom) It just all depends on which body shape book or article you are looking at.

I'm 5' 6 3/4" I just say 5'7" usually.
235- 20 (tight)
210- 18
195- 16
185- 14
175- 12
165- 10
156- some 8's
These are all approximate also. I think I'm an hour glass shape. I carry my weight in my hips and thighs, booty and have a bigger chest. I started out at 40 DDD and just dropped to a 36 D. Which is what I'll probably stay at. I may be a 34, but I don't think I'll get smaller than a D. My size 10's are getting loose, but still am not a true size 8 yet. I can wear a few, but not all.

On Oprah she said with every 10 pounds you drop a size. For me that is not always true. Actually at my weight now I go 10/12's (I'm 5'7") and when I got down to 160 I wore afew 8's. When I reach my goal fo 150 who knows what size I will be. I don't remember (even at 120) being smaller than a size 8 Tall.....But then I was never really into sizes, I just have always gone by how I look.

Star, I think you are right - the differences between sizes is smaller in the smaller sizes than in the larger sizes. What I'm trying to say - is that the inch diff in bewteen a 6 and 8 may only be an inch, but the difference between a 16 and 18 may be 1 1/2 or 2 inches.
And there doesn't seem to be very much standard between clothing manufacturers in sizes! (And anyway, only we know what the tag reads, right?)

ok, well in my opinion it is hard to compare sizes in a place like this...I am 21, and since a year ago have been at a decent weight (under 150) and I always wore Jr sizes...but now since I have gained all this weight, I find that I wear like an 18 in Jr sizes ( i dont even know if they are really considered jr sizes after 14) but then if i hop over to the women's section...I am like a 14...and same with the plus sizes, which don't fit me well at all...
