Unhappy Eating For Life HELP!!

Daughter and I just started the EFL program and after 1 week...I gained 1 lb and daughter lost .5 lb. Very discouraging!! Was wondering if anyone else had this problem? Do you think the diet has too much dairy? I know Michael Thurmond's 6WBMO is against dairy for weight loss. Just perplexed!!??

Thanks,
Janet

Dairy products have been recommended lately, due to recent studies showing that calcium from dairy (and not supplements) can help promote weight loss.

You are probably experiencing water weight, which could be due to a lot of things. Our bodies can fluctuate several pounds from one day to the next. I wouldn't worry about it unless you still do not show a loss after another week or two. In the meantime, i would suggest keeping a food log of every bite you eat, and add up the total calories. Maybe you are eating too much - or not enough.

Yes-and give it some more time. Some weeks I can lose 2 or 3 pounds on the scale, and the next week I don't show a scale loss at all. Over time the improvements happen, but you have to stick with it.

Are you doing the Body for Life exercise program along with it? Eating for Life is a meal plan designed to be used with Body for Life. It's probably too much food if you are not weight training and doing the prescribed amount of cardio exercise.
