Weight Gain While Calorie Shifting???

I'm a 20 year old female, 5'3, with a starting weight of 151. I liked the idea of calorie shifting but instead of calculating weight loss for my own weight, I decided to try eating at maintenance for my goal weight of 122. This put my average caloric intake at 1550 calories a day. I have only been doing this diet for 3 days but I decided to weigh myself just as a check-in and I was 154?! Is this normal? I have been counting my calories meticulously so I know I haven't gone over my allotted amount. Am I eating too much?

Btw, my activity level is kind of all over the place as a college student. I do a lot of walking, a few 30 minute runs a week, and try to incorporate yoga or light kettlebell work 1-2 times a week.

I wouldn't determine whether your plan is successful or not based on a weigh-in a few days into your new plan. It could be that you ate something salty the day before and are retaining water. I think your plan seems sound, and I would encourage you to wait a couple of weeks before you weigh-in.
