Default Very Low Carb Performance

Forgive me if I don't remember who first posted this link on this site, but I've just finally got around to watching it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB7aGnfLB-8 I've always been interested in low carbing, paleo-style ideas and so I often read literature and watch these types of docs.

Low carb aside, I'm reeling by how focused this guy sounds. I mean, he's made his body into a machine it sounds like. Constant expertimenting, and gauging his cholesterol levels and testing his performance. It is so far removed from how I act around food. To him it's just fuel and he's trying out different kinds of fuels so that he can train long distances. It's fascinating and horrifying all at the same time. I get that he's talking about a ketogenic diet, but he sounds like a total robot. I can't imagine how difficult it is to obliterate sugar and all starches from your diet but to talk about it as if it's so easy just boggles me.

Why can't I see food as fuel? Annoyed!

I watch the video. Yes this guy is focused to the point of obsession, maybe.

I wouldn't want to live like that.

I wonder if he ever craves his Mom's French toast or attend a back yard BBQ and ignore the burgers. I mean I like low carbing but its bit humanly possible for me to do no-carbing.

I am not sure living with obsessive compulsive disorder is that much better. But humor aside, going very low carb long-term may not work well since it can affect the levels of active thyroid hormones, as well as progesterone and estrogen. There is nothing wrong with enjoying food in moderation. In fact, I feel very sorry for people who only regard food (I am talking about real food, not some industrial sweets) as fuel. Tell that to the French.
