Is MY DIet OK?

  • I am trying to maintain my weight at the moment and don't know if I am doing it correctly.

    I'm 15, 5' 4", 105lbs.
I am on my feet all day because of work. I am standing or walking around.
    daily diet:
    breakfast-
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (130cal)
    4 strawberries or 1/2 c raspberries (30-40cal)
or 3-4 egg whites with bell pepper, onion, spinach
    2tbs salsa (10cal)

    morning snack-
maybe an occasional apple, but not usually (55-150cal)

    lunch-
3-5 oz boneless skinless chicken breast
salad or low calorie green veggie (30-60cal)
sometimes fruit of some sort (apple or strawberries)

    afternoon snack-
maybe an occasional apple, but not usually (55-150cal)

    dinner-
8-12 oz boneless skinless chicken breast
salad or low calorie green veggie (green beans)
maybe some fruit like an apple

Calorie wise I believe it amounts to 1000 ish calories. I am awful with portion sizes (mainly meat). I have managed to keep the same weight for a couple weeks though.

See in order to lose weight I pretty much became an anorexic by eating <350 calories. I was losing 2-3 pounds a week. I'm better now.

But my vision of what i can eat without gaining weight has defiantly been distorted............

So i always eat egg whites, yogurt, berries, apples, melon, green beans, carrots, salad, cucumber, vinegar, zucchini, yellow squash, and i never drink my calories.

If anyone could give me some tips on getting over this thing completely and telling me what i can eat without gaining.
  • That sounds close to 1000. You should always shoot for at least 1200 calories a day though, especially if you're on your feet most of the day. Most people need at least 1200 calories a day for basic bodily functions. I would suggest including some avocado, nuts, olive oil, and some dairy in your diet to bring up the calories in a healthy way. High fiber cereals and eggs are great as well.
