The weight loss counselor is not just wrong, they are ignorant.
Fat loss or gain is always an equation of energy. When you eat, how many times you eat, and even to a certain extent what you eat is irrelevant. What matters is calories in vs calories out. I am outraged that someone you're paying money to would tell you something that is totally fabricated.
Not eating after six is one way to limit caloric intake. I practice something similar but I don't eat until noon. Fancy name of skipping breakfast? Intermittent fasting.
Educate yourself because you can't trust the diet industry to do so.
