Default So close yet so far ....

Hi everyone! I am 22 y/o and have been on my weight loss journey for a little more than 1.5 years and have lost 74 lbs through diet and exercise. I have come so far in the past year, but don't think I'll be satisfied until I hit 100lbs lost. 26lbs seems like it's soo far away, on the other hand, it seems so easy seeing as though I've lost 74 already. I know I can do it, but hate to think how long it's going to take to lose the remaining weight. I've read the last 20lbs are the hardest to lose...DAMN! One thing I am thinking of doing is signing up for a 5k to build on my running and to give my body a more intense type of cardio. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your success!

I say, what's the hurry? You'll get there when you get there. In the meantime, I love your idea of setting up other, non-scale, goals to accomplish.

When I was losing, I didn't even weigh myself because I knew that if I just continued doing what I was doing (eating less, eating healthier, moving more), I would lose. And I did----even below my initial goal.

I think you're doing great, and if your weight loss regime is working well for you (not overly restrictive), then, as they say, "If it ain't broke . . ."

Thank you, I appreciate it.

And that is beyond awesome!! I don't weigh myself too often, but like to be aware of where I'm at and how far I've got to. I've been doing this so long, it's a bit of a drag.I want to reach goal like NOW lol, but know it will take time to lose it the right way. I have until November to lose remaining 26lbs to get my tummy tuck revision , until then I'll be kicking butt!

Are you on maintenance?

Ah, so you have a deadline. I didn't realize that.

Yes, I've been officially maintaining since Nov. 2011. The odd thing is that my initial goal was to wear a size 8/10, which I figured would be somewhere around 145 lbs. When I finally did weigh myself the week after Thanksgiving (because I liked how I looked and wanted to start maintaining), I was 140. Then, in the process of trying to figure out how many calories I could eat to maintain (which ended up being a LOT more than I thought), I dropped more weight. Now, my weight seems to range between 134 - 137, and I can comfortably wear all size 6's that I try (and some 4's). I've heard it's good to have a 5 lb. weight range, but I get nervous when I'm at 137 (which I am now), and that seems to be my "red zone" alerting me that I'm getting lax w/ my eating (e.g., picking a lot more, getting lazy about weighing & measuring food, etc.).
