Default Not eating past a certain time?

Is there a time that everyone stops eating by? Like you don't eat past 8 oclock or whatever time? I'm not counting calories right now. I am already overwhelmed with everything else so i am just trying to eat as healthy as possible and eating portion sizes. I was just wondering if eating late at night would sabatoge the next day's weigh in.

I am getting back in the habit of never eating past 6pm. It takes about 3hrs to digest something, and if you're asleep it just sits there, if you are moving you are actively burning. And you'll feel better in the morning, more rested.

I try not to eat past 8 o'clock. Sometimes, I fail sometimes but I keep up at it because it helps not packing on extra calories at night. I've realized that my craving for food and eating is stronger at nighttime for some reason, so I try my hardest.

I can't set a time to stop eating. I am a huge snacker and I can't sleep if I am really hungry. I count calories so I always make sure to set aside a chunk for my late night snacking. It has not effected my weight loss so far.

I try my best to stop eating after 8pm. It's almost always mindless eating anyway. And I'm always bloated in the morning if I eat late, and it's really depressing!

I think that one is very, very individual. I tend to be ravenous the first part of the day and not hungry at all in the evening. My husband and older son are opposite. There are many times (just yesterday) where I don't eat after 3:30 pm and I went to bed after midnight. I simply didn't get hungry. But I ate 1600 calories from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm.

If someone were to tell me NOT to eat until 3:30 pm, I would want to kill someone! But my husband or son would be like "OK, whatever.".

I can do very good all day, not overeating and eating healthy foods. But for some reason as soon as the evening hits i want to eat everything in the house. I try to just have a snack, something small and healthy but after i eat that i want to keep on eating. I think i have to give myself a shut off time or i'm gonna eat the whole night! Why is losing weight so hard when gaining it is so easy?

7pm for me. I know there's some debate about whether imposing a cut-off time in the evening makes any real difference to weight loss but I find it helps me draw a line under eating for that day and let's me just chill for the rest of the night.

A lot of days Im not even home from work until 6PM. And I have to work out after that. So the latest I eat is usually at 9pm or so. But I just eat a yoghurt or something small.

I tend to just not eat after dinner because I'm not hungry. If I finish a big workout in the evening I might have a small snack afterwards though. I don't really set a specific time to stop, although I did when I was losing.

Most days I don't get home from work until 10pm. And I'm hungry. I eat, lightly, but I eat. Studies are proving that not eating past a certain time to lose weight is bogus and old school thinking. Just google it and make your own decision.

I say, eat when you want to, but be mindful of what you eating just like you would any time of day. I personally am calorie counting, and if I have 300 calories left at the end of my day, and I'm hungry, I eat them.

An example of a typical 10pm meal: spinach salad, carrots, celery, cheese, homeade orange vinaigrette. Boneless skinless chicken breast, small portion. This usually equals to less than 200 calories. Then I have a tbsp of semi sweet or dark chocolate, chocolate chips and milk for about 100-150 calories right before I go to bed. It's working for me.

Forget the "rules", if it works for you, do it.

I was wondering the same thing... After I get off work (anywhere from 5-6), I head straight to the gym and am there until 7:30 or 8. By the time I get home and eat, it's around 8:30. The only effect I can imagine eating late in the day would have is if you weigh first thing in the morning. If you go to bed on a full belly, I'm sure it's going to take longer to digest while you're sleeping and add a little to the scale in the morning? I could be wrong, but that's my logical guess. Therein, I say don't eat too close to bedtime the night before your official weigh in of the week or however often you weigh. Again, this is merely speculation.

I specifically set aside calories for the end of the day so that I can have a snack about a half hour before bed. There's no reason not to eat at night if you can fit it into your plan. Timing of meals has nothing to do with weight loss. The reason some people try not to eat after a certain time is that it helps them control binging or mindless snacking, but if you work it into your plan, you can eat any time you feel hungry.

For me I try not to eat after 6pm. I find that if I do it usually triggers a binge and I keep grazing until bedtime.

I don't set a particular time because when I actually manage to fall asleep changes from night to night. I just try not to eat too close to bedtime and I'm usually out by 3:00am.
