Default Diet ideas to suit the whole family?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a diet which would suit the whole family? I would like to lose a couple of stone and just generally start eating healthier. I have followed a few diets such as the south beach diet and atkins which went okay for me but found it hard to make my meals then something different for the rest of the family. I was thinking of maybe starting Slimming World. If anyone has any ideas or any diets that have worked best with them and their family it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

With calorie counting there are no forbidden foods you eat normal, healthy, nutritious foods. Good for you and good for the family. You would be curtaiing your calories but they can eat as much as they want.

Why make completely separate meals for everyone? I'm on a low carb plan and my kids eat exactly what I do I just add a starch for them sometimes and of course they're allowed to snack on crackers etc. No complaints from either of them .

I was going to say something similiar. Make the meals low carb (chicken, meat or fish and one or 2 veggies) and add a starchy side for the non dieters. Also let them have fruit or crackers/bread with thier meals or for snacks.

Totally agree!!! I think it's by far the easiest to "adapt" everyone too and it doesn't limit things. I think everything should be made as healthy as possible but I also think that calorie counting allows you to keep some family "favorites" in there that your family is probably use to.
