Question Minimum Calories

I have a question about calories. They say not to go below 1200 (1000 at the very least under doc supervision) in a day to lose weight in a healthy manner. Does that include subtracting calories burned during exercise or pre-exercise (net or gross)?

For example:
Consumed 1300 cals
Burned 500 cals with exercise
Net Cals for the day: 800

Anyone know?

Not an expert, but i'd say NO the calories burned during exercise is just a bonus...as they say, the way to lose weight is burn more calories than you intake...so don't up the calories simply because you've burned them during exercise..
But then again, get a second opinion!

I agree with nat123. I don't subtract calories , as nat says anything burned is a bonus.

Thanks a bunch. I figured that was the case, but wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding things since most online food journals subtract your calories from your food...made me start thinking.
