Thanks for the advice!
I joined WW with my mom three years ago after my daughter was born. The first thing that I did following that meeting is take my little tracker and a sharpie and write portion sizes plus points on everything in my house. Then it was easy for me to calculate my day.

I'll throw in a plug for my plan, the Dukan Diet - because I'm so happy on it, and it has some similarities to IP (and also the BFC which someone else mentioned).

The cost was about $15 for the book (bought off Amazon) and now, the food that I buy. The only "special" food that wasn't something I had previously bought is oat bran (different from oat meal) and I get that in bulk at the market for $1.49/lb - you eat 2 TBS a day, so it's truly just pennies for that.

The rest of the diet is lean protein, low/no fat dairy and vegetables. No grains, aside from the oat bran, and no sugars other than what naturally occurs in the dairy and veggies.

Like most low carb plans, it's a phased plan. What really appealed to me about it is that there is an extra phase in between weight loss and maintenance, where you gradually add back in whole grains and fruits and even a Celebration Meal or two each week (notice - MEAL, not DAY! lol!).

I've been on it for 3 months and have lost 37 lbs so far - about twice as fast as I've ever lost weight before! Not that speed is the only factor, but I have to say it sure keeps up the motivation level!
