Omg I know what you mean! Im so in love with sugar its ridiculous. For me, if I drink tea/coffee that curbs my cravings for sugar. But if you're dying for chocolate, have a couple pieces of Dove dark choc.. it hits the spot.
I love Green & Black's organic chocolate bars (the milk chocolate w/ almonds & the 70% dark chocolate are great). They're not low-calorie, but one "serving" is 240, and it's pretty generous. So, I usually will have 1/2 serving at night with a cup of espresso. It tastes SO good!
I think it's important to allow ourselves some small indulgences. It prevents the feeling of deprivation.
Yeah, my "I want chocolate!" is quickly soothed by 70% bittersweet with 30% hazelnuts. A square of it is about 100 calories, and that's about a bite or two past "ahhh, just right", so I'm working on not feeling obliged to finish that last bit.
If I have a hankering for chocolate, I'll sometimes have a Fiber One bar.
If I really want some good quality chocolate though, I go for it and have a Godiva Truffle (yes, just one) If you're going to have chocolate, you might as well have the good stuff, right?
1. Milk with unsweetened cocoa and some splenda. The chocolate milk it produces is FANTASTIC.
2. Nuke 2 sugar free fudgicles for 15 seconds, take them off the stick, mix with 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter and 1-2 tbsp fat free cool whip. You can mess around with the amounts a little, depending on how much you want to "spend," but OMG. ITS SO GOOD. And it really helps with the choco/peanut butter craving. (i got this one from the south beach phase 1 dessert forum, and there's also another really good one over there called warm "brownie." yum.)
The only Franken food I eat are the Jello Dark Chocolate Pudding cups in the refrigerated section of the market (60 Cals), also their Chocolate Mousse Cups are great - I forgot what they call them, but I think their by Jello also. Just enough to take the edge off.
Other than that, I'll just have a couple of Hershey Kisses or something small.
