Veg and Fruit diet advice
Hi everyone, I've lurked for some time and just registered. I just wanted to see if anyone else has tried this "diet":
All veg and fruit (esp beans and dark leafy greans for iron and protein) Milk-one glass/day Cheese-2 oz (2 inch cubes) Nuts-any type (+ peanut butter 2tbsp/day) low sodium 2oz (1/4cup) I figure, in order to keep cals up, if I have at 1 cup of whole milk, 1 apple, 1 banana, 2 tbsp PB, 2oz nuts, 2 oz cheese, it would = 1140 + all the other veg and fruit would probably put me over 1200 so I won't be in starvation mode. So my question is has anyone tried something like this? If so, did it work? BTW I'm not a big meat fan, and can go without, the thing that is going to kill me is not having candy and pasta/bread. |
I ind nuts quickly add up to a LOT o calories. Also, this kind of diet doesn't have enough protein in it or me, I'd always be hungry :)

I 2nd that, not enough protein or fat for me, I'd always be hungry. I feel that would set you up for failure, IMO.

sorry, should have done the calculations
Calories Protein Fat Carbs Fiber 1,462.8 68.9 62.6 165.2 37.8 % Cals: 18% 38% 44% Changed it from 2 oz of cashews+ 2 tbps PB to just 1 oz + 2tbps to reduce the fat Changed it from 1 cup whole milk to 2 cups Also make sure 1 and 1/2 cups of beans (love em anyways, if not I can add 1/2 chicken breast --3oz instead/day). I only need 20% protein, or 59-47grams of protein (USDA) for my weight. The fat is a little high (should be 30%) but I like nuts. Thanks for the feedback. Edited to add if do reduced fat milk and cheese turns into just 32% fat |
