Hey, everybody! I just joined 3fc a couple of days ago, and I was just wondering if this was Dr. Ian Smith's Fat Smash diet? I just started his 4 day diet, but I also purchased the Extreme Fat Smash book. Has anyone tried that?

taurie, thanks for the info! i'm glad my body knows what to do, then, as i go through the modules!
niecey, welcome to the forum! taurie and i are on the 4 day. i'm on the push module, after having only done one day of the smooth module. i lost 6 pounds on the 4 day, i'm on day 17 now. the pounds came off in the first two modules, i stayed the same during protein, maybe fluctuated a pound or so up, and now in push, i'm back to where i ended prior to protein. i think taurie has had similar results. i was on FS a few years ago and it worked great. this time around though, the FS didn't work as well, and the EFS seemed too extreme for me, so i went for the 4 day. but the others are doing well on their FS/EFS, so i'm sure they'll speak up.

Newbie - Starting FS tomorrow 3/4/10!
Hi everyone,
I just received my book in the mail today and will begin phase 1 of the FS diet tomorrow. I had one question.....the low fat yogurt needs to be sugar free? I bought plain, because I was not sure, and the vanilla seemed to have tons of sugar - 34 g per cup.
Anyway, any suggestions or tips for getting through phase 1 would be appreciated.
Thanks.

hi newbie! welcome to our forum. feel free to ask any questions, someone here will answer! for the yogurt, yes, sugar free, plain fat free is what he likes, i think, then we can add our own fruits.
taurie, guess what? i have lower fat today, and higher water, you are da' wo-man and in the know!
i moved on to the vigorous module, am skipping pace just to get as much done as possible before i leave... but hey, wine doesn't have any fat, right?

Wow, looks like everyone is on a different plan. I'm back to FS detox since I had 4 days off plan while I was sick. Checked the scale this morning and I'm only up .6, which I'm very happy about. Day 2 of detox today.
I am debating when to start EFS. I had the book on reserve at the library and just got it. It does look REALLY extreme though. Since I'm still not 100% better I'm thinking of sticking with FS until next weekend, because I'm not ready to do that much cardio yet. I missed 6 days at the gym while I was sick. Went back last night but only did 20 minutes.

to the new Smashers! Good luck to you.
Tomorow is weigh in for me. I'm hoping for a loss of some sort. I feel bloated right now. I need to be drinking more water. That has always been a challenge for me.
Here is my meal plan for tomorrow:
B~ cereal, banana
S~ yogurt
L~ tomato soup
S~ apple
D~ beans, rice
S~ air popped popcorn
I am gonna drink lots of water. I have a huge water bottle that I am going to take to work with me.
Good luck to you all...
Sherry

Life - Sorry about your respiratory thing. I hope you are doing better.
Misskitty - That's fantastic!! Way To Go! You're really burning through those modules. Yep, wine is fat-free. YAY! (I cheated and had a glass last night )
Well, I got another soar throat. It came on shortly after lunch yesterday, maybe it's an allergy. Anyway, besides that I feel pretty good. The scale is consistently going down. I started between 122 and 124 and now I'm down to 118, so that's roughly 5 lbs. This diet helped me break through a plateau of 120 lbs and I feel as though I can do this diet forever.

taurie, awesome on kicking the 120 plateau - sounds like you've got it beat!
life4evr - hope you feel better soon. Take good care of yourself - we'll be here when you're ready to join back.
shae, looking forward to seeing your weigh-in.
kbj0123, welcome! Keep posting and let us know how it's going. I am doing the original FS and lost 6 lbs. during detox. It helped me get below 140, which I've been trying to do for MONTHS!
misskitty, your results are amazing!
Today is my official weigh-in and I was down 1 lb. for the week, which is GREAT because I was sick and off plan for 4 days. Only made it to the gym twice. I am back at it now and made it through my whole Zumba!(tm) class last night.
Happy Friday! Oh, should we start a new thread?

well, i didn't meet my 167 goal today. but i didn't gain during my period, so i consider that a benefit.
you ladies have to stop getting sick! but the sun is out here, so maybe, spring will come...
i'm trying the tickerfactory that was suggested by a member. we'll see how that works! i'm inspired to put the fat loss on a ticker too. maybe psychologically it will help me realize that even if the scale doesn't move, i'm making healthy choices and changes. i may have hit a plateau and didn't even know it...
going to do wash and pack today! have to finish some projects before i go, busy day ahead! shae, i can't wait to see the weigh in! life, come back when you can.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for making me feel welcome.
Congratulations to all who have lost weight....you inspire me.
Today is day 2 of phase 1 FS diet, I just made a huge pot of lentil soup with lots of veggies: spinach, okra, corn, broccoli. Will have it with brown rice for my lunch.
I had a veggie egg white omelet for breakfast. I also had a yummy oatmeal:
1/4 quick cooking oats
1/2 cup ff milk
1/2 peach cubed
1/2 banana sliced
cinnamon
Microwave for 1 minute, stir, microwave 1 minute again.
It was really good, made me feel like I was having sugar.
Keep gong everyone.

New Comfort Food!
I'm on day 6 of detox (Phase 1). Down 4.5 pounds. Just wanted to share my new comfort food with everyone!
It used to be cake. But I would eat a large piece of cake in two bites. And then want more.
Now, in the evenings I've been having a small bowl of oatmeal (1/2 to 1 cup depending on hunger/if I've already eaten oats), with a splash of milk, cinnamon, and bananas.
The first day, I had to add splenda. Today, none at all! I eat it slowly and make sure I get a bit of banana in each bite. And the warmness and sweetness is awesome.
I started the diet with the little I could find online, and today I bough the FS book. So it can only get better from here.
Congrats everyone on your progress so far!

Welcome, stepher! Great ideas on the oatmeal - that's what helps my sweet cravings too.
Did well yesterday until I woke up around midnight with terrible pain. Sorry, this is gross, but I have a problem with hemerrhoids(sp?). It's been escalating lately and I've been putting off going to the doctor because just the thought of being examined - OUCH! So I went downstairs to get some ice and felt sorry for myself and got 1/2 cup of frozen yogurt too. I did measure it and it was lowfat, but not on plan.
Finally a beautiful sunny day here on Long Island - hope it's nice where you are too!
