Hey, guys. I feel absolutely rotten. My cold is much worse - I am achy all over and had bad chills last night. I am also having a flare - I have a condition called costochondritis - it is like fibromyalgia but just impacts my chest and ribcage. I have my period. And my husband fell off a ladder doing home repairs today so he is hobbling around himself.
I ate some off plan foods yesterday but my calories were not high. I am giving myself permission to eat and drink whatever I think will help for the next few days(having some juice right now), and I'm off the gym until I feel better. Then I'll start with detox again.
Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

we're falling apart!
it must be the winter blues.
another snow day on Friday, but every once in a while, it's nice to have the kids home.
ok, so i finished the protein module too, and then was moving on to smooth. that's where you get to eat 'normal' foods, i.e. the ones that got us on this forum in the first place. so last weekend, i promised myself pizza on saturday, a home made one, so with less cheese and fat. so i ate my two slices, but then, there was one left, so i ate it. so i said, ok, i'm not going to have my snack of berries and low fat 'ice' yogurt. but i was watching the syracuse game , and said, what the he**. then since i felt totally gross and disgusting, because i didn't pay attention to my body and STOP EATING PIZZA after 1/1.5 slices because i was FULL, i said what the he** (again!), and i ate about 20 chocolate kisses. it had been so long since i'd eaten chocolate, and i thought, well, i've blown it, so... i went to bed feeling gross and had an upset stomach all night. which is good, b/c now i feel like overeating will just make me sick.
i've figured out that 1. if there is extra food when i cook, then i will pick at/eat it, so i have to make the 'right amount' for the four of us., or at least walk away from the food and let the family put it into the fridge after we eat, 2. i'm not good at moderation, so i have to learn that skill yet.
i had already decided to skip the smooth module and move on to the next one. i too didn't lose any weight on the protein module, like taurie, so i'm looking forward to the Push module and losing a few more before i step on the plane next weekend.
i'm actually kind of glad i went off plan yesterday. i think now i won't be tempted to do so as much while i'm in france.
oh so, get this. we went to costco for the first time yesterday, spent a TON of money, but i'm hoping we'll use most of the food for more than a month, anyway, i had extra milk and oj, and the onions, carrots, cukes, etc. i put them in a cooler on the back porch. the temp isn't above 35 on any day lately and there was no room in the fridge. i read that in some places in canada, people actually turn off their fridges in the winter! how wicked cool is that?
ok, this was a long one. off to shovel the driveway, again. and no, i did not weigh myself today. and i won't until wednesday, i feel so guilty!
shasha, if the calories don't work, try the 4 day. good luck!
misskitty

natamars - hope you feel better.
I've been sick as well. Pesky cold. I'm not going back to the gym until I feel better. I've stuck to my diet with the exception of drinking orange juice. My weight has been steady at 120.0. I know my body would of been able to fight it off if it weren't for the drinking on Friday.
This morning (March 1) I weighed in at 19.4. If it sticks I'll change my tracker.

Sorry to say, but I have been sick the last 2 days. I got a stomach virus Saturday afternoon and am just now starting to feel better. Guess there is a lot of sickness going around. As far as food goes... I don't want any. lol. Not for a while.
I hope all of you who are sick get well. I hope to get back on plan tomorrow.
Sherry

Hi Smashers!
I feel so good today. I think my body has finally adapted to this way of eating. I am not starving all day long. And when I do eat, it doesn't take much to fill me up. I also prefer healthy fruits and veggies to junk. I can't wait until weigh in on Friday. I'm sure I have lost some.
How is everyone else doing? The thread seems kinda slow lately. I know a lot of us have been sick. Hope everyone is feeling better.
Have a SMASHING day!
Sherry

hi all,
well, the migraine came with that time of the month. as a new surprise, i woke up with a swollen face yesterday, red on the right hand side. do any of you pre-menopausers get that strange symptom? i was a bear yesterday - had a problem at the bank and all i wanted to do was throw a temper tantrum like a two year old, right in the middle of the floor. sigh.
i've been doing well since last saturday's foodfest. counting down until this saturday, when i go away! it's getting boring though, even though i try to keep it fresh and exciting. but there's so much food here that i *can't* eat! i can't wait until these next 18 pounds come off and i don't have to think constantly about what i can and can't eat.
i haven't weighed in since last week. i was going to, tomorrow, but with my period now, i'm wondering if i should wait. pants fit fine, though, so something is still working.
i hope all of you feel better soon, and that your upcoming weigh-ins are fab!

Wow, sickness is really going around!
shae, sounds like you're feeling better and doing great.
i am still sick. i really think it was flu. still incredibly stuffed up, but finally feel like i'm turning a corner. haven't been to the gym since thursday - ugh.
so tomorrow i'm going back to detox. cooked some brown rice, have lots of beans, made a big salad, and now i'll make the oatmeal "muffins". my weight still may be up on friday, but that's ok.

Good Morning!
I have to work today... UGH! But, it's only for 4 hours... so, it shouldn't be too bad.
misskitty~ I have never had the swollen face problem. I ususally just swell up in the tummy area. I hear ya about the eating getting boring. I used to get excited about meals... but now, it's just a meal. Guess that is why I am FAT. lol. When I was growing up...meals were an event. And boy did we eat. Now, I'm just not hungry very often.
sluggo~ AWWW.... come back. I miss you. But, seriously... fat smash is hard. Don't be upset because you ate off plan. You can still post with us. Thanks for the support.
natamars~ Hope you get to feeling better. Sounds like you have your food planned out... good luck on detox. Thanks for the kudos.
Well, I gotta go see what work has in store for me today.
Talk to you all later,
Sherry

hum, the tickers, that's weird. i checked my signature and the link is still there...
the migraine is still hanging around!!! aaarrrggghhh!
but, i did suck it up for the weigh in. still at 168 (saw a flash 167!), but the best news, my fat is down below 40%! at 39.7%! i can't say i ever saw that number!!! and my water is up to 42.6% - hey maybe that's why my face is puffy?, it usually hangs around 41%. so know over the next few days it will look better if i stick to plan.
we got a new foster yesterday (we foster for the local animal shelter). it's a yorkie poo, 9.5 yrs old. he was attacked by a larger dog (although my cats are larger than he is) and his skin on his back and right side had to be literally pulled together and stitched. the poor thing looks like frankenstein. my husband wanted all fosters out of the house before i left for france, but even he agreed to foster this one until he's 'more better'. his name is Cloudy but i think we'll call him Lucky instead, cloudy is just such a depressing name...
anyway, fingers crossed and bad food put away in the cupboards. i can't remember who said it, but it was 'that's 11 pounds you'll never have to see again'. so whatever happens at weigh in this week, remember: progress is progress!!!

misskitty, so sorry about the migraine! great news on the low on body fat. i'm so impressed you're sticking with it through the pain - migraines are the worst.
someone alerted the mods about the tickers - hopefully it is fixed soon.
i am feeling better today - still have all the cold symptoms, but just have more energy and feel like i can be on plan. packed all my detox-legal food for the day and planning on a little cardio at the gym tonight - nothing too much yet. also debating looking at extreme fat smash after this. i now have 16 lbs to lose(well, may be a few more, will see when i weigh in friday), so i may try to push harder.

on Monday when i was MISERABLE, i still wanted to exercise, so i just put the treadmill on 2.8 mph, had my story on my ipod, held on to the rails, and closed my eyes, put my head down, and walked. it didn't burn a lot of calories, but it was easier than trying to pound out a 4.5 run not feeling well.

Misskitty - sorry to hear about your relentless migraine. That's awful!
An increase in body water percentage is a good thing and is directly related to losing body fat as lean muscle mass is 75% water. So that is fantastic news
