Good Morning,
It's a rainy day here. No outside exercise. I have had a banana so far for breakfast. I'm trying to decide if I want yogurt or not. I'm not very hungry this morning. We are having boiled shrimp for supper. Not sure about lunch yet. Probably tomato soup.
life4evr~ I hope you feel better. It's hard to start a diet when you are sick. Good luck on your first day.
natamars~ Congrats on making it to the gym. I forgot we could have cold cereal on phase 2. I may have some for snack today.
PrettyPearls~ WOW! Congrats on the loss.
I have weighed and have lost. But, I will weigh officially on Friday and then post my results. I need to adjust my ticker. I weighed more when I started this time than I did when I made my ticker a few years ago. UGH!
Talk to you guys later,
Sherry

hi all,
i'm really beginning to hate menopause. i was moving along, happy as a clam, being positive. then two things happened. at work yesterday for the first time in maybe a month, and no one looked at me cross wise as if to indicate that something looked different. no one said 'misskitty, have you lost weight?' that bummed me out. you would think that 15 pounds would be noticeable.
then, my mood just went downhill from there. my period is due in the week, and i swear, i NEVER did these mood swing things! and i don't like doing it now.
anyway, i'm holding steady, and you guys are moving along great. prettypearls, that's way awesome! taurie, i'm afraid that i'm eating too much on the protein module, but i've stuck to the list, and done all the exercise and weights required, plus some extra walking. i hope this module works!
shasha, i see you have partial pounds on your ticker. how did you do that? when i tried it (and someone else on this forum too), the ticker automatically went to the poundage of the first three digits.
i'll try and improve my mood and i'll talk to you tomorrow.
night, night,
misskitty

misskitty- hope you're feeling better! i got my ticker from tickerfactory.com. if you click on mine, it'll take u to the website, and you can create your own!
smashers, this sucks! i'm starving, i miss my coffee and tea, and i've been having cravings for the weirdest things! well, weird for me. i don't usually crave sweets, but all i can think about are cookies and cakes, and i almost sunk my finger into the jar of nutella in my cupboard about 4 times today! what gives? anyone else have mega cravings during phase 1 like this? no piece of fruit gets my mind off the thought of flaky pastries melting in my mouth! agh!!

shasha12 I had major cravings the other time I did. Part of it was that time for me. And also because I knew I couldn't have it. Well I didn't make it to the gym today, my eating was horrible. I ended up helping a friend move at the last minute. But it could have been worse. I will probably just do an extra day. I don't know.

Morning, guys! It is snowing like crazy here. Schools are closed, so I'll be working from home - very glad I have an excuse not to make that commute.
I am up .2 from Tuesday - back to official weigh-ins on Friday.
Shasha, how do you get the decimals on your weights on your ticker?
As for cravings - is your period due? I had a really rough time craving sugar(although for me this is NOT unusual) my first day, then it settled down. I only drink coffee on weekends, so that wasn't an issue for me, but maybe you should let yourself have a cup if it will help. You're allowed to add it back in for phase 2 anyway. My period is due and I was ravenous yesterday and gave in to a small Dove chocolate heart. When I got home I was so tired from the commute I didn't feel like getting off the couch to cook or eat, though. I also missed Zumba because of the traffic though.
I'm home today near all the food, so I'll have to be careful.
TGIF!

Good Morning,
I have to go to work in a few mins... Just wanted to pop in and share my great news. After 12 days... I am down 10 lbs! I even cheated once. Not that I recommend cheating. Just saying...
Have a great day!
Sherry

sasha - hang tight. You can do it!
My weight has been the same for the last few days... 119.8. Yesterday when I woke up I felt sluggish, but went for my spin class anyway. By the time I came back home I felt worse. I think I'm fighting a cold. Sore throat, low energy, ugh. The only good thing about it is that I don't have an appetite.
Last night my boyfriend had pizza and garlic bread right in front of me. I didn't even ask for a bite.
I'll be eating out tonight and tomorrow night. Fortunately, I have already decided what I'm going to eat. Yay me! Now I just got to stick to plan. To be honest, my favourite meals are fish or steak with lots of salad. So, I'll feel like I'm treating myself and not breaking the calorie bank. Feeling under the weather is a good excuse not to drink; I'll be sure to play that card when I'm out for these dinners ; )

Shae.... WOW girl 10 pounds in 12 days!!! That is amazing and you even cheated.. I won't cheat but I think you did an awesome job!!
Taurie... I need to follow your lead. I'm going out of town this weekend and I'm pretty nervous about what I'm going to eat. I have called ahead to one of the parties that I'm going to and was told there is nothing 'healthy' on the menu. What kind of crap is that???? I'm going out for supper tonight but I'm sure I can find some chicken or seafood someplace that is not fried with a good salad not loaded with extra fat!
Natamars you are doing a good job. .2 is so minute. Just keep pushing forward!
life... hang in there. Once you make up your mind to take it day by day and know that this is the diet you want to do no matter what, it will come a little easier. It's like culture shock the first few days!!
Today's lunch: black beans, white beans over less than 1/2 cup brown rice with one turkey wing (baked).. Yummy!
Any advice for my weekend? I hope to check back in tonight.

snow shoveling
is it cardio or upper body?
i did 1.5 hours of the heavy, wet snow today. now i have to consider my 'normal' workout and decide what to do.

I think it is more upper body than cardio. You probably also squat when you lift to protect your back, so that's butt and hamstrings too. I'm really impressed at 1.5 hours - think I lasted 45 minutes. My lower arms hurt worse than any other part of my body.
Not having a good day. Really hungry and ate some stuff off plan - a granola bar and half a cup of frozen yogurt. I wish my period would just start already. Have to go shopping and do better tomorrow. Also need to spend some more time at the gym - planning on cardio and an hour of body sculpting.
shasha, just saw your note on the ticker - thanks.

Hi smashers
So, I don't think Fat Smash is for me. I had a horrible 4.5 days trying to do phase 1... Crazy cravings all week long, as u know, and I finally gave in today (majorly, ya--piece of pizza, nutella, 3 buffalo wings). In fact, there's a glass of cab in front of me as I type. So, whatever! it's back to calorie counting for me.
Best of luck all

how to avoid drinking?
PrettyPearls - nothing healthy on the menu? that's ridiculous. hopefully when you get there you'll find there is something decent to eat. good luck.
good luck Sasha!
For dinner last night we didn't end up going where I thought we were going to go. We had bar food instead. I slipped up, surprisingly not with the food, but with drinking. 2pints of beer, a margarita on the rocks, 4 vodka diet cokes Ironically, I feel better today... my cold thingy went away.
Though, those diet cokes woke me up at 7am, so I'm only on 5 hrs of sleep. I don't like caffeine anymore, it's not my friend.
Hopefully tonight will go better. Again, I don't think food will be the problem... it'll be the drinks.
It's easy not to drink during the week, but its so HARD not to on the weekends!
How does everyone cope with not drinking?
Oh and since I finished my protein module I'm still between 119.8 and 120.0, but with 24% body fat instead of 26%. I'm thrilled about that. Though, my calories have been around the 1,000 mark with the exception of yesterday (apprx 2,500 cals).

Hi all,
It's been a lazy day here today. Lots of rain and snow. Still eating good. I need to go shopping again for fresh fruit. I am so ready for Spring. I miss walking outside for exercise.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Sherry
