How about we just do a 'quote' to add onto our previous post? that way we can keep track of the updates, the posts won't stay in the same place and we'll have a running total?

Works for me, but I'm fine with whatever.
Hey De when are your races?

I'm aiming for the Trail Nut Half in June, and the Running for the Bay Marathon in Florida at the end of Oct.
You?
I really hope getting off these 30 pounds will help me increase my speed. My endurance is pretty impressive for my size, I can run 10 miles non-stop, and do the half distance with like a minute walk break after mile 9. Haven't tried beyond that point yet. Plus this winter weather has kept me pretty much on the treadmill.
When are your events?

I'm not too sure if that is the marathon I want to do though. My girlfriend picked that one out for us but I don't think she did all her homework. I definitely want one that is timed, and not a recreational one. So we will see. But I am aiming for a fall time frame for my marathon.

D- That's pretty awesome. I've only done 9.3 miles (I did a 15k in Nov) but I haven't tried any farther yet. I'm considering looking for a half mary to do in April/May but I can't really find one that fits my training schedule. I'm in an Ironman training group and she's given us specific weekends that we can only race on that correspond with planned rest weeks. The only races I've registered for so far are the 2 below in my sig. (July/September)
I'm still pretty slow though.
How about everyone else? What are your plans to get your calorie burns up for this challenge?

Alright peoples! Tomorrow is our Week 2 check-in. To log your Week 2 stats, do a quote from your week 1 stats and add on from there. We will keep doing this each week. I have to tell you all i am terrified to weigh-in. I keep wondering if breaking my plateau was a fluke. I have been pretty steady to my 1,000/day deficit. I did reach only 652 one-day but then made up for it then next two days with 1300/day deficits. We will see. I also had a bigger than usual breakfast today so I am paranoid about that.
But I have been thinking of buying this dress from Victoria Secrets I have been wanting for two years now, but never would have the balls to wear. If I reach my target or even near it, I could be showing off my runners legs lol Any one else have a reward for reaching their goal?

ONLY done 9.3 miles? Most of the population couldn't complete a mile without stopping, I'd say that is something to be pretty damn proud of!
I look forward to following your training. I really hope upping my calories (per my GWF) helps me to get these last few pounds of. I get frustrated sometimes when I'm in the gym busting a-- and running 4, 5, 6+ miles non-stop and I see these skinny minnies get on and walk for 10 minutes, run for 5, get out of breath and leave. It's like seriously!??!?!
You have actually inspired me to seriously think about trying to complete a tri, although don't they have different levels? I'm not talking about ironman training here lol The one thing I know would be hard for me is the swimming. I never really learned to swim in a technically proper fashion. It was more of a horsing around in my parents pool and finding out if I kick and move my hands I can move. I am sure it's extremely inefficient. Maybe thats something I can look into for the summertime.

Yes, a "Sprint" Tri is the one most people do first. The run part is a 5k and the bike usually 12-15miles. If your seriously interested I'd read the book "The slow fat triathlete". I hadn't swam since I was a kid but I took a few lessons and it was enough to get me through my first one. Also there are women only ones that are great for first-timers.

I will definitely have to look into it. I'm going to check and see if there is one around here a 'sprint' triathlon I mean.
