I was afraid to go all the way to the suggested 2100 it wanted me to consume. If that works I wil stay at 1800 until I see a plateau again.
I think that will be my plan also, stick with what is working and when I hit a plateau I will rework things. I completely get the comment you made about being shocked that you weren't eating enough..it is hard to compute that! I look forward to your update and how upping your intake works out for you.

I'm quite shocked at how LITTLE I burn on a non-workout day. Pre-GWF, I'd have guessed I'm burning around 2,000 per day just to function - based on all those calculators all over the Internet. But nope - without any formal workout, just standard daily stuff (10+ hours sitting at work,no housework), I burn right around 1,750. If that doesn't motivate me to get in the gym and burn an extra 300-400 per day, nothing will! My GWF is set at 2,100 burned and 1,600 eaten - I'm usually under on the intake (1,400 - 1,500 most days) and right around 2,200 burned with a good workout plus some housework type stuff. But without the GWF - how would I know any of this?

I agree, it is hard to eat 3000 calories a day, 2000-2200 should be plenty and the more you lose the lower your daily burn will be and you will eventually have to cut back on calories or up your burn. if you are osing on 2000 then it should be plenty. keep up posted!

Also once I get mine I will also be up for the challenge.

Hi Jules - I'm right there with you. The online calculators - daily plate, fat secret - all think I burn about 500 calories a day more than I do. On a non workout day - I have a desk job - I burn around 1800 calories.

It's not the best news I've ever received, but it is what it is, and now I know why I wasn't losing weight eating 1600-1800 calories a day and not exercising during our busy season.

Sasil - I have a hard time getting in all my calories too. What I do is bounce my deficit. I do a couple days of a high deficit (up to 2000) and then at least one day closer to 1000. On the days that I am trying to keep it down to 1000 I use some calorie dense foods to get all the calories in. I eat things like nuts, dates, figs, peanut butter. There have been a few times where I have been so stuffed, but really needed to get the calories in, so I drank a meal replacement drink with my dinner. I keep one in the fridge just in case, but I've only resorted to that 3-4 times since starting with the bugg mid-august. I have been doing the deficit bouncing thing since Jan. 11 and have lost 12.2 pounds since then.

Never pay extra for Shipping. Ive done that before and the merchandise always arrives around the same time as regular shipping. I ordered mine on Saturday with regular shipping and they said it would take 7-10 business days, I guess they just throw that out there so that I would pay extra for faster shipping but they sent me a email saying that mine will arrive tomorrow. Hopefully your BB will arrive soon and maybe you can get them to refund some of the shipping cost if it doesn't arrive when they said it was supposed to. Good Luck

When I started working full-time I could not understand why I was packing on the pounds even though I had not changed my eating habits. I REALLY had no idea how sitting at a desk for essentially 9.5 hours a day KILLS my daily calorie burn. People like us have to overcompensate to get in the extra activity because we just don't get it for most of our day. It is certainly frustrating but more importantly an eye opener and atleast now we have the knowledge.

UPDATE: Well for those following my saga, I weighed in this morning and was down a solid 2 pounds from last Wednesday (which is when I started wearing my GWF). This also includes it being that TOM for me when I normally see a 1-3 pound weight gain. I am SHOCKED! I have increased my calories pretty drastically based on GWF data and I just knew when I stepped on the scale today I would be up but nope! I broke through my THREE month plateau.

Just to recap, I had been eating an average of 1,400 calories a week. I am a runner and started training for a spring half-marathon in November. I run around 20-25 miles per week, plus do strength training. On the days I do nothing I burn about 2,400 calories (I purposely sat on my butt all day Sunday to test this out). On the days I workout (which is 5-6 days a week and it's also the days I work and I generally walk around 2 miles to/from work) I burn around 3,200 calories. I kept ABOUT a 1,000 calorie deficit each day. So on the days I worked out I ate up to 2,000 calories. I don't think I went over 2,000 even though based on GWF I could've eaten 2,200. On Sunday, I bumped my calories back down to 1,400. After a week of this and not making any other changes to my exercise routine, I am down a solid 2 pounds. I can not believe I actually had to eat MORE to lose weight. You hear it all the time but you just don't believe it. This goes to show that weight loss is not a one size fits all strategy. If I was not working out at all I would've probably continue to lose with the 1,400 calorie deficit. But apparently I was just not fueling my body enough. I am going to go with the flow and see how this works for me over the long haul.

I hope my experience takes away the fear from some of you about eating more. We go our BB/GWF for a reason and I guess at the end of the day we have to believe in it or it's essentially useless to us. I am officially a believer!

Received my UPS shipping notice and tracking information and my Bodybugg Digital Display will be here a week after I ordered it! Bummed that ground takes so long but glad to have a date. Kinda wish I'd paid extra for faster shipping but I'll live.

My 2nd weigh-in was today had me down 2.3 which brings my two week total to 5.3! Very happy!

I got a shipping notification but they only shipped the display. What in the world am I going to do with just the display. It said that mine "may" be backordered. I am really upset with 24 hour fitness, their site says nothing about them being backordered. I have emailed them and nothing yet. I can not find a phone # for them. When you spend almost $300 with someone they should have the ethics to email you and let you know that it is backordered. That is all for my rant!

I'm impatiently waiting for the UPS truck to come today. Every loud truck that rides past, I'm running to the window to see if its UPS lol. Well I have to go to work soon so hopefully it will be on my door step when I get back home.

Congratulations! This is so exciting to hear. I have bumped my intake up to a average of 1800for this week so I will be anxious to see what the scale says next week.

Thanks for keeping us updated!

Carly - did you order through 24hourfitness or apex?
I called 24 hr fitness and they said that the display shipped and the armband did not, which is what i told them to begin with. They gave me a different # and said to call it. This has been horrible. I tried calling it and the person i need to speak to is out and said they would call me back.
Hopefully I will get someone on the phone that can explain why my armband/monitor did not ship.
