So does that mean Amazon is likely to quit carrying it soon?
Trying to decide if I have enough time to buy it with gift cards or if I need to somehow come up with the money for it now.

Nope. Dick's used to carry them in stores and online but the online store doesn't even turn up a hit and most physical stores were clearancing out the arm bands for really nice prices (some physical store may even still have the clearance bands). Amazon and drugstore.com appear to be in no danger of discontinuing their own sales.
I bought my arm band on ebay and am on the lookout for a fabulous deal on the display but am not willing to spend any real amount of money on it, hah.

I love it so far. I feel like it is overestimating my calories burned, though - that it overestimated my BMR. The only other thing is that the arm band starts to annoy me at times. This is only day 3, so I am hoping I'll get more used to it.

Man! I want that display display! But it wasn't even on sale let alone the issue of the lady telling me they don't sell floor models.
It clinical trials the sensewear (which I have to assume still runs on the same inner workings of the Bugg and GoWear Fit) tended to underestimate calories burned when compared to the Gold Standard of oxygen consumption tests. That may only be true during vigorous exercise though. The report I read said about 10% under O2 monitoring. Body Media says expect the product to be about 10% off (both +/-) which still makes it at the top of accuracy game when compared to almost anything in its price range.
If someone here also wears one of the more accurate "calories burned" features on a high end Polar or Suunto HRM we could get an approximate, to compare. I know people who use a _good_ HRM with one of the better calorie counters say that the numbers during their workouts are very close to their Bugg/GWF. Of course, I've seen a lot of good HRM with pretty poor calorie trackers. I'm much more trusting of the GWF algorithms than any HRM since that isn't their primary function. Just like I trust the Garmin Forerunner's GPS a lot more than some of the Polar HRM with GPS (but know Polar is better at heart rate than the Forerunner).
Another thing that can affect your BMR is your body composition. The more muscle you add the higher you BMR so sometimes the scale doesn't move much but our body is busy burning fat and building muscle - which changes our numbers and it seems to me that the GWF does pick up on that (I think the heat radiated sensor would probably be influenced by changing body comp, out of all the raw data).

Just finishing up Day 5 with my GoWear Fit!! One thing I have discovered is that no matter how long I try to sleep, I tend to only sleep 5:20 - 6:00 hours a night. Is this normal? Anyone else find they only sleep this? I tried to sleep 10 hours last night and still... only slept 6. The night I tried to sleep 7, I slept 5:24. It seems silly to make myself lie down for longer than 7 or 8 hours if I am not going to sleep anyway.
So far I love love love this thing!! Besides the cool information about my sleeping patterns, I also feel this awesome sense of control over my weight loss. Within the first few days of lowering my intake, I dropped like 4 lbs of water weight (even though my time of the month came then, too) and this thing motivates me to take a walk or move more to get a few more calories burned in every night.
One night I ate just to maintenance. I normally would have considered my diet screwed at that point, but since I KNEW I was at maintenance I stopped eating... normally I'd just say "screw it" and probably eat more. Which is why I weigh what I do lol. Now, I just realize that it is OK. I can have days where I eat enough, but I know I am not undoing my hard work from the days prior.
I am weighing everything I eat on a scale, too, so that helps. I feel like I am not lying to myself about portion size, cuz I can't.
Anyway, I love my GWF so far! If I have a deficit of around 650 for the next two days, I should lose 1 lb this week. That makes me happy. If I only lose 1 lb a week, I will be at my goal weight when my husband comes home from his deployment. woo-hoo!

I got my BB a couple of days ago - still pretty excited about it - and have actually been logging my calories - which I usually don't want to do - but it is pretty easy!
also now I realize how many calories I am drinking (from alky!) - argh!!! Guess I will have to work out more on days I drink
can't wait to see if I finally lose some weight (since I have gained about 30 easily in the last year or 2)
Is there going to be a forum for this great tool?

GWF wrist display shows a different number that activity manager
Hello all,
I am hoping someone here might be able to shed a little light on why my GWF numbers are different from display to upload to activity manager. My display says I've burned 2363 calories and the upload says 2060. 300 calorie variance is significant. The steps are more slightly off 10392 vs. 10351, but I don't understand why. Has anyone here had that problem? I plan on calling support but I'll have to wait until Monday.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Lindy

My display and activity manager numbers usually don't match - but not by that much.
But, I'm a newbie, too!

Sometimes I find mine is off by that much if I have had any off body time, maybe keep it off for the night and see if you get a reset in the moring.
Also, I am not sure if gofit has a message board, but BB does at apex.com and you may find the answer to that on the message board there...

The display uses a different, simpler version of the algorithm that the full program uses. It says SOMEWHERE in their material that the display and the upload values may be different from each other for this reason.
The uploaded version is supposed to be more robust and therefore more accurate.

Thanks everyone for your help; you've been very helpful. I've been learning more and more and I will call support about the variance on Monday. I do have another question for anyone who might be able to help. I cannot find the "edit" function that enables me to enter "off body" time and activity. I've seen instuction that states to edit under calories burned drop down but I don't see anywhere to edit. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
Thanks!
