Default Found the Problem!

Ok, so I am no Bill Gates, but after doing alot of research on the internet I figured out what my problem was. On my laptop I am running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista. In order to utilize all areas of the activity manager, you have to have the latest version of Java, in addition to Adobe Flash Player. HOWEVER, Adobe Flash Player is not yet compatible with 64-bit web browsers (i.e. like my Firefox or Internet Explorer). So I was unable to download the Adobe Flash Player. Apparently, there is a way you can use the regular 32-bit Internet Explorer, but my laptop was essentially stuck and would not let me remove the adobe flash player I attempted to download. SO, I moved on to my desktop computer which is running Windows XP. I updated my Java software, and installed the Adobe Flash Player. I then installed the syncing software and connected my GWF. After my activity manager launched when I clicked on the 'Nutrition' link, I was not even seeing what I was seeing previously, it automatically asked me to update my daily caloric intake (i.e. I track on Fitday so I did not want to log each meal in here and thus changed my preferences to reflect this). So, I input my calories and voila!

At the end of the day it had nothing to do with the Body Media software not being compatible with web browser, but had to do with the limitations of Adobe Flash Player on 64-bit browsers.

Ok, very technical I know but I hope it can help out some one else in the future and prevent them from experiencing my frustration!

My GWF is only at 83% charge right now. I am going to catch the end of criminal minds and hopefully it'll be at 100% then I can put it on and get going

Thanks for all the suggestions!
YAY!

Although this doesn't solve the problem completely, you can also do a seven-day average (or 14 day or 21 or 28 day depending on which you choose under the "Specific Days" tab) and simply multiply your "Daily Average" deficit by however many days the time spans to get the total calorie deficit for that time period. Then divide that by 3500 to get how many pounds you've lost theoretically during that time period.

For example:

7-day (Jan 11 - Jan 17) daily average calorie deficit = 815
Total calorie deficit for that time period = 815*7 = 5705
Pounds lost for that time period = 5705/3500 = 1.63

I find it much easier than adding up each day IMO. You'd think they'd develop something for this, though, since it's kind of important/handy.

Quick question, does the display go to some sort of sleep mode at night? Because when I woke up this morning it asked me to sync my display to the GWF.

I had my typical work day yesterday (I work a desk job, so I try taking a few laps every hour or so) and then when I got home, I did 2 miles on the elliptical. My calorie burn yesterday reached just over 2200, so I'm a little confused. I feel like I did more, but burned less. Help....what am I doing wrong, or different?
L144S gave you a good list of possibilities. I would like to expand on the calories in part - even 1 day too low will give me a crap burn the next day. I have to watch very carefully too, because my minimum calories line changes. When I first started with my BB I could go as low as 1,000 (I rarely did though) without it bothering me the next day, then it was 1100, then 1150, now I am the standard 1200 minimum calories type girl and have been there for months. Also, if I have a day where I have a lot more calories than usual it can also effect my burn the next day. So watch your calories in closely.

A couple things that I would like to add to the list - sleep and water. If I have a bad night's sleep I get a crap burn. Not drinking enough water (or crystal light, green tea, or other water-like beverages) can have a major effect on a person's calorie burn. I started off drinking the often quoted 64oz. and I thought I was fine. However, I began being thirstier, so I added to it. Every day now I drink around a gallon of crystal light, 8-16 oz. fat free milk, and 8 oz. V8. My calorie burn did a significant jump up when I increased my fluid intake. I went from averaging 2400-2600 to 2800-3100 without a significant change in my activity.

With only one bad day you shouldn't let it upset you just yet. Just watch your calories in and make sure you get enough sleep and water.

Deana, I don't know about GWF, but the BB needs to be resynced occasionally and will definitely need it if the display is more than a few feet away from the bugg itself for more than a minute or so or if the bugg is turned off (removed) at all. Also, being around a lot of other electronics will sometimes make me have to resync, especially wireless things. My display never seems to lose any data when I have to resync though.

Thanks! That's very good information to know. I'm only a week in with my bugg and I try to drink plenty of fluids, but I'm going to up them and see if that changes my burn as well.
