I am kinda new at this.......... when I was younger; I was able to eat junk food and not gain a pound...and here I am 256......... it bit me in the rear......I have no idea where to start and I need some tips. Here is a vague idea if what I eat already

breakfast
3/4 cup banana nut cherrios
1 cup fat free milk

snack
1 apple
yogurt

lunch
turkey sandwich
cup of veggies

snack
cup of fruit

dinner
chicken

snack
smoothie

am I getting on the right path here or where am I going wrong?

You should go to a place like sparkpeople.com that will let you know how many calories you need to be eating to lose weight. One thing I will suggest is some protein in the morning will help you stay nice and full. If I don't eat protein I get really hungry about an hour later, so even some peanut butter on toast would help.

I'm new to this too, but one thing I learned (through the wonderful chicks here) is that you have to consume enough calories so that your body does not go into starvation mode and hold on to fat. It doesn't seem that you are eating enough.

I was thinking the same thing......... I was thinking of doing the slim fast shakes added with my breakfast for extra calories and I heard they help with hunger....... I need to learn to go to sleep earlier so I can wake up earlier.
