Anyone care to share piercings?

I know this probably isn't the right area, but I tend to spend more time here :D
Anyone have piercings? Or hope to get piercings? I know I've read that a good many of us plan to get our navels done at or near goal. This is one I'm looking forward to! I hope to be able to have it around the New Year!

I've retired an eyebrow due to work policies/husband not liking it. I miss it, but you gotta give sometimes! It was my choice in the end.

I'm headed this Thursday to get both nips done :carrot: Spur of the moment sorta. I've always said I'd never get it done, but the piercing bug has bit me and I'm chompin at the bit to get it done! Wish I could speed payday up a bit..hehe.

I've had my tragus done for almost a year. Cartiledge piercings usually take forever to heal, but this one has been SOOOO easy to heal! After the initial piercing and about 2 days of tenderness it hasn't given me a bit of trouble. I'm so glad I did some research and found out that using the LITHA method (leave it the **** alone) works wonders!

Another cartiledge piercing, done with a gun (bad, evil things!) has been in for about 4 or 5 years and still gets angry. I just refuse to take it out...lol.

Finally, I have a VCH. I don't want to explain it, but you can google it! I'm not embarrassed of it, just not sure how much I can explain about it...lol. Below the belt, if that tells ya anything!

Anyone else want to share their list? Oh yeah! I have 3 standard lobe piercings in each ear that haven't seen jewelry in over a year or 2. They don't interest me...lol.

I love to hear of other's piercings!

Kim

browniegurl 09-04-2006 08:19 AM

well

At this point I just have my tongue done. I had both my breasts done, but unfortunetly my body rejected them. I also had a lip piercing which I absolutely loved, but I had to take it out due to work and it closed. I *am* going to get some more and get some of the others redone, but I'm using the piercings as a kinda weight loss reward.

techwife 09-04-2006 12:00 PM

I have two...one in each earlobe. I'm so boring.

LLV 09-04-2006 12:16 PM

Just my ears here too. One hole in my right ear, two in my left. Unfortunately, though, I went so long without wearing earrings (when I was heavy and didn't care to beautify myself) they closed up. So I can't wear earrings anymore.

KateRN 09-04-2006 12:48 PM

lets see...

both lobes, once.

14g industrial on the left.
14g septum
10-14g tongue
14g both nips (pierced them myself)
i've tried my belly several times but it just rejects.
16g Hood

and 8 tattoos.
:)

You pierced your own nipples? Wow, I don't know that I'd have the guts.

KateRN 09-04-2006 02:26 PM

i cheated. hahaha - i used lidocaine and numbed myself up big time. then just messed around with the piercing.

*shrug*
it wasnt too bad. reeaallyy bloody but not painful.

drake3272004 09-04-2006 02:53 PM

I have both earlobes done twice and I use to have one at the top of my right ear, but for some reason 2 years after it was pierced my body started to reject it. One of my rewards when I lose this weight is to get my nose done, just a little rhinestone, but I haven't decided which side I want it on.
I also have one tattoo and have the second planned, still deciding where I want it and I want to lose weight for that one too!

Katpo 09-04-2006 03:20 PM

Two in each ear, one in the navel, and a tat on the lower back of a moon/stars. Nowadays, *I'm* considered boring!

Ouchie!

sotypical 09-04-2006 09:55 PM

Good luck with the nipple piercings! I kinda want mine done too but not brave enough... but I have-

navel, conch, daith, rook, anti-helix, helix, lobe x2 in each ear (only wear 1 in each), and my VCH (best piercing ever!)

Just makes me shiver. I'm so sensitive, I can't even stand tight pants in that area.

cardsfan2009 09-04-2006 10:43 PM

Right now i just have both lobes twice, so 4 piercings. I had my cartilages done, but they wouldnt heal and i had to take them out. Then i had my belly button done, but it kept getting infected and pulled at, and eventually i had very little skin covering it, so i decided to let it heal. I plan on getting it redone soon. When i turn 18, im getting my nose and maybe tongue. Soon ill get some more in my ears. I love piercings and tattoos. I've already designed my first 2 tattoos. :D

The two lobes i had done with a piercing gun when i was younger, and they healed up fine. But then i got my cartilages and navel done with needles and they were rejected. I wonder why.

AmberKay 09-05-2006 12:10 AM

I really want to get a vertical labret. I've also got three lobe piercings in one ear, two in the other, and a cartilage piercing. I'm looking to get a tattoo pretty soon.

I thought the same. I thought about getting the piercing for at least a year. Finally I gave in and did it. It didn't hurt a bit. Getting my ear lobe hurt more. The guy goes do you wanna see it? And I was like, what your done? It was tender for a day or so but never really hurt. I couldn't believe it. It healed so fast and everything, it really is a 'dream' piercing in the sense of how much it doesnt hurt and how fast it healed. I thought everyone was joking but it was true.

It's also "my little secert" and makes me feel sexy knowing its there :) I love it, and if I could only keep one of my piercings - it would be that one! I think every girl needs one :)

OneKim 09-05-2006 02:45 AM

I agree Courtnie! It's the best ever!! Getting the VCH made me curse a quick 'holy sh*t' and that was it. After the initial needle I never had a moments pain with it! Not even tenderness a day or two after. I went right back to tight jeans and all! It is a fun piercing in that you can either tell, or not! Seems it comes up around others that are heavily pierced, but not so much around non modified people.

It's a beautiful piercing too! And yes, if I could keep just one of mine, it would be that one.

Browniegurl, I'm sorry to hear that your breast piercings rejected :( That's all I'm afraid of! I've heard it's one of the hardest piercings to heal...we'll see how that goes! I'll try to remember to post back here Thursday or Friday to tell how it went :crossed:

Courtnie, I want some of the ear piercings you named...I'll eventually get them as I get bored and use piercing to fill in the gap...lol. The anticipation gives me something to look forward to and the research gives me something to do!

I love hearing about piercings! Keep em coming! I work with 2 people that are heavily modified, but that's it.

I also have 5 tattoos and hoping for more after the first of the year.

Cardsfan, ya just reject some and keep some! Cartiledge really likes to be angry and not heal up right. Honestly, try your tragus (the hard flap right over the opening of your ear...hard to explain) but do it on the side you don't use for the phone, and you might be surprised at how easily it heals! Don't turn it or anything...just use 'Wound Spray' twice a day for a few days...that's what I did and I didn't have a seconds worth of pain!

Are any of you besides me and browniegurl using piercings as rewards for yourself? I figure my big 'goal' one will be a tattoo or a triangle piercing! This one I'm getting this week is sorta a halfway one, I guess!

Courtnie, I'll let you know how it goes. A heavily modded girl I work with has a VCH and the nips done...she said the VCH made her jump and the nips are nothing like as bad. But then, I suspect her nips aren't like mine...lol. I've had and nursed 3 kids...haha.

Kim
(this was very rambling!)

MizCandula 09-05-2006 10:19 AM

I've got 1 in my nose, lip, and tongue. 4 in each lobe and an industrial in my right ear. I have 3 tattoos - the largest of which is my thigh tatt that I'm finally getting colored in after 2 years. I wouldn't touch it until I had lost weight and I finally got half of it done 2 weeks ago. I have to get the rest done this Thursday :D

Now, speaking for the heavily pierced, my fiance has 3 liprings, 1 nose ring, 2 eyebrow piercings in each brow and his ears are all pierced up, with an industrial in his ear as well. People always ask him if hes got any hidden piercings and he always says "Are you insane?" lol. He's also sleeved in tattoos and has leg tatts and a stomach one hahaha. Him and my dad constantly compare tattoos, as my dad has his arms done. But my dad always says, "Does Billy [fiance] need all that metal in his face?"

Yes, yes he does. It's super hot

sotypical 09-05-2006 11:13 AM

MizCandula - another boston terrier owner! wooo

Kim - I dunno if I could ever get my nipples done... I just heard they hurt way too much. My VCH didn't hurt at all, so it can only get worse! It was only sore for a day or so after cuz my boyfriend and I rushed home to try it out, LOL. My most painful piercing was my rook. I don't know if it was because it was the first one... but it hurt - a lot! It was also a PITA to heal. I am lucky tho, I heal good. I got my last piercing a year ago may (my anti-helix) and when the lady did it, she said "Just keep doing whatever it is your doing, I don't care if its not what I recommened" haha. Anyway here are some pics of my beauitful ears:
http://saltypickles.com/pics/rear.jpg
http://saltypickles.com/pics/lear.jpg
I love my ears, haha. I wouldn't mind one more in my right ear - then I would be finished. But no idea what I want so I will probably just leave them alone. I love the feeling of getting piercings but there is nothing else I really want done. Never been huge on facial piercings. I thought about getting a little tattoo or something, but I think there are too permentt for me! I change my mind too much.

Kreen 09-05-2006 11:35 AM

I have both earrings. Tried the navel 2 years ago but rejected, I think mostly because i was too fat, so it could not heal properly cause i kept hurting it with my folding stomach...so will definitely do that one again when I reach goal!

phantastica 09-05-2006 11:53 AM

I have 2 piercings in each ear, and a tongue piercing. I also have two tattoos, one of which I dislike and would like to have removed.

techwife 09-05-2006 01:24 PM

I'm scared...do I want to know what a VCH is? :fr:

707Goddess 09-05-2006 02:11 PM

My guess would be that it's EXACTLY what you are thinking

drake3272004 09-05-2006 04:15 PM

My nose ring and next tattoo I'm going to get are goal weight rewards, I just haven't decided which goal for each.......still have to think about that one.
But here is a pic of the tat I have now, needs a touch-up big time!

I got it done with a bar bell. 12 gage I believe or maybe its 10.... I would have to check - the bar is at least half an inch long. I have never taken it out really, I tried changing the ball to something with a jewel and the ball kept falling off, haha....

OneKim 09-08-2006 06:53 PM

Yay! I got my nipples done yesterday! I won't lie, it HURT!!!! But they're soooo pretty, so it was worth it! Everyone has different reactions Courtnie, so you very well could deal with it! One girl (that can't take pain) told me it was nothing to her. I deal very, very well with pain, but I gotta tell you, as of right now, I don't think I'm going to get them done vertically as well, like I had hoped. But then, I've had and nursed 3 kids, so I'm sure they're tougher than some....so there's more pain there. They're feeling ok today though, as long as I don't bump em!

Courtnie, I love your ears too!!! I plan to get a few of those, just don't know when. And mostly in my right, cause I talk on the phone with my left and I don't want trouble healing them!

Techwife, did you find out what a VCH is? LOL. It's a hood piercing. There's a few different styles...Courtnie and I have vertical, there's horizontal, and triangle as well that is a little more intense from what I hear. I'm hoping to get that done, probably in October...if I can gather the nerves...lol.

Goddess, I got mine done with a captive bead ring...not sure of the gauge, I want to say 12. Never had a moment's tenderness with it, but unlike Courtnie, I waited the month before handling it in any way...lol. I know what you mean though Courtnie, the curiosity almost got the best of me! I have yet to change the ring, so I can't help you on that experience!

Loving the tats and piercings! I'm debating on getting a new tat or piercing next. Decisions decisions!

Kim

707Goddess 09-08-2006 07:52 PM

ONEKIM you are brave i could NEVER do my nips ( as much as i want to) i also breast feed 2 of my kids but mine are so sensitive YOU GO GIRL but i do have one thing to look forward to is the VCH I didnt know how my husband would react i mean to having someone down there to pirce it he's very private but he was thrilled i mean **TMI** we would play like i was but i mean never did i think he'd go for it so we are both excited now i'll let you all know how bad it hurts or not >LOL

OneKim 09-08-2006 08:09 PM

Goddess, you can do it! The nips are a piercing I actually always said I wasn't interested in, but the piercing bug bit recently, and I said 'oh why not!' and when I get something into my head...well...lol. I took 2 girlfriends with me and they were my support! One has hers done, so she KNEW what I was in for!

The VCH is...a very concentrated pain, if that makes sense? Alot only feel a pinch, and some have pain! For me it was more of a very sharp burn, but only lasted as long as the needle! Good luck with it! I hope you have a great piercer that you trust. That makes ALL the difference! My guy is great, fast, has an awesome rep around here...and he's gorgeous to boot...lol...that makes everything a lil better...hehe.

My best friend may be getting a VCH around the same time that you are! I may be getting my triangle around then, so we can whine together...hehe.

Kim

liz321 09-09-2006 12:01 AM

This thread is a hoot......being an ER nurse I would have to say that it is more the norm now to have something other than ears pierced than not....shaving and tatoos never boring either!

L

healthyme05 09-10-2006 06:27 PM

Career choice prevents excessive piercings. I just have one hole in each ear...I was considering a belly piercing, but decided it really wasn't worth it. So...I think I'll stick to what I got!

Linds81 09-10-2006 08:26 PM

I'm boring...lol just one piercing on each ear. I had my nose pierced, but I could not get rid of a keyloid that was there constantly. I had it in for 7 months, but finally ended up taking it out because I was afraid I'd get a scar. I have one tattoo... and I'm hoping to get another one soon.

aphil 09-11-2006 10:56 AM

I have 4 tattoos and the left side of my nose pierced (along with 4 holes in my ears-3 left, 1 right).

I had my naval done about 10 years ago-before it was so "trendy". Once every 16 year old girl in town started getting one along with every mainstream pop starlet-I took mine out. ;)

I always had trouble with my naval though-so I was glad. It never healed fully-and it was always painful. No matter what I did, my body just wanted to reject it.

I could never get my nipples done, or a VCH done...if my body rejected a naval (and I did have some trouble before my nose finally healed as well) then I don't even want to go there! Plus..I breastfeed my children, so I don't want anything in that area, either, that could possibly affect that.

What I *do* want is more tattoos though...they are my personal preference, if they are done well, and are meaninful to the wearer. (as in, no "generic" tattoos that 500,000 people already have-like guys with a tribal arm band or a Looney Toons Tasmanian Devil.)

I love my nose piercing though...

lovethatsara 09-12-2006 09:45 PM

Lets see Currently I have 5 in my right ear 4 in my left, and my tongue. I also have 1 tattoo and by the end of my weight loss journey I plan to have at least 3 more.

I used to have, : Nose,eyebrow,lip , labret

OneKim 09-18-2006 07:18 AM

Aphil, I'm sure if you wanted a VCH (no idea there...lol) you would be pleasantly surprised at how easy the healing is. There's generally no swelling, tenderness and all of that...and the area is self cleansing, so that's taken care of! The nipples...I can't tell ya much! I seem to be a fast healer in most areas, so maybe I'm just getting lucky with my new piercings, but they're not giving me any trouble at all so far!

Thanks everyone for posting your tatts and piercings! I love reading about them, and alot of people will surprise you with the number they have, and you just can't see! I always wonder what people's face would look like if they knew what piercings and stuff I have...lol.

Kim

sotypical 09-18-2006 02:45 PM

I agree, VCH is the "dream piercing". There is was little to no aftercare required. None of that soaking in hot salt water and all that crap. You get the piercing and thats it, your done. You have to be gental with it, or your suposed to, I never was. lol

I got a new piercing! I already made a thread for it...

707Goddess 10-05-2006 02:51 PM

OK WELL SAT IS THE DAY ( OCT 7th) ......................................
MY B-DAY AND VCH PIRCING IM REALLY NERVIOUS NOW .................
ok question My husband wants to pirce it himself do you think this is wise ??? i mean what all i need is the ring and 18 g needle right please help
im a little nervious im confident he can do it im just scared of if something could go wrong?

aphil 10-05-2006 03:58 PM

Is your husband a profesional body piercer? If not....

NO WAY should you trust him to do a piercing...especially one THERE!!!! Just having the equipment isn't enough. Just handing someone a machine does not make them able to sew...nor does handing them a scalpel make them a doctor.

OneKim 10-05-2006 04:22 PM

NO NO NOOOOOOOOO!!! Please don't pierce yourself! Go to a professional piercer where you KNOW everything is sterilized and the person is experienced. If your husband has a problem with you being seen in that area by a man, try to find a female piercer or take hubby with you!!!

There are many, many stories on the net about do it yourself piercings going wrong in one way or another. Sterilization is not as easy as it seems, least of all in our homes. The area is a delicate area, and I'm pretty sure you don't want an infection there, or for him to slip and hit something else.

Some do it yourselfers have been successful, but that's by sheer luck or massive knowledge. I'd much rather hear of you having a pleasant, clean piercing experience than 'um...is my piercing SUPPOSED to be leaking green mucus??'

Good luck with it, whatever you decide to do! I'm sure you'll love your new metal!! I look forward to hearing about your experience, if you decide to share! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Kim

P.S. Courtnie, I asked on your other thread (I think...may have THOUGHT I did...lol) asking how your new piercing was healing? I've had good luck, except that I developed mastitis in my right breast 2 weeks into it. The piercing itself is healing great, just bacteria in a milk duct. Swollen, tender, red, itchy breast for 2 days before I finally went to the doc! Antibiotics cleared it up though. Smooth sailing for now! Hope your new one is healing well!

sotypical 10-05-2006 04:42 PM

Piece it yourself? NO WAY! Expecially not 18g, it would be ripped out in two days.... just spend the money and do it right, GOOD LUCK!

My piercing is doing good. Still a bit sore, cant sleep on that side. But overalll very good. Still red and very swollen, but overall okay. I am liking it better now. Looks good. 16g would still be nice tho so I dont have to buy new jewerly, but it is growing on me :) Glad to hear yours are doing okay now! If you did ask I missed it - havent been around here as much lately.
