I have had a myspage page many times, but usually end up deleting my account because I never know what to say, what to write, and I won't put my picture up...I notice that many of the women on myspace have pics posted that are supposed to make me believe they walk around in lingerie striking provacative poses all the time. I have a few blogs that I like to read, but I never really caught on with myspace.
I am addicted, but not very many of my really good friends are interested in signing up...
I'm not about collecting friends like trading cards, but it's a little depressing sometimes!
I love myspace! I definitely don't think it's a great place for kids but I'm not a kid! LOL All my friends are on there. I'm not into adding people just to add people. I only add people I actually like and talk too. I would love for yall to visit my page.
I live in a pretty rural area and both my teenage sons have myspace accounts that i have the passwords to and monitor regularly. But for them it is a way to keep in contact during the summer when there is often many miles between them and their friends, they have their cousins and their aunt *who is only a year and half older than my oldest* also on their accounts. I am leery of the whole thing because of alot of the stuff about predators and stuff on there but like i said i monitor them very close ~laughs~ they think mom is a paranoid busy-body. My youngest has his youth minister as one of his friends on there so i even have a little back up on my monitoring!
JasonsLea and owira, i agree with both of you. I used to be concerned about the safety of MySpace but MySpace has partnered with Cybertipline.org to keep the site safer for kids. Anyone can report inappropriate behavoir to Cybertipline and you dont even have to give your name. Its a great resource and since i learned about safety precautions on MySpace i have even signed up and have a page as well. I am not addicted to it by any means but i do check it a few times a week.
I love myspace. Well, umm...I found my ex-boss on there! He was sitting on his couch in his underwear in his profile photo. Need I say more? (Although, the thought of my ex-boss in his underpants IS pretty hilarious). ...I wonder if his wife knows?! Anyway, yeah, it is definitely addictive!
I actually had 3 pages. The first one I deleted because something told me it was a lame idea to have a page. Lo and behold, I started missing MySpace. I signed up again. This time I had a page for about 6 mos. I only added people as friends who I actually knew offline. Anyway, I found myself checking my MySpace at work, clicking past the "deferred access" links and everything. I told myself, this has to stop!!! I deleted my account. Then, I couldn't live without it! I signed back up, only to take the site down again a week later. I've been MySpace free for almost a month now. I lost the ability to spy on my sister (who has a friends only profile), but I still periodically check out the other profiles on there. I don't miss it ... too much.
I definitely love MySpace. When I first made mine I was on it all the time, now I check it every couple days or so. I made it about 3 months ago and only have 17friends. I'm selective I don't allow anyone to be a friend, I've been asked by weridos, or chicks who want you to go to their "webcam" page and give them you credit card number. You got to weed out the idiots just like in real life. But I love it, it's fun to make your space unique and cool to you.
