I don't watch a lot of TV, and that seems to keep a lot of that out-of-sight-out-of-mind. My downfall is the smells driving by restaurants (of which there are a ton by my house).
Well, I used to have mad cravings for fast food, and I never have to deal with them since starting my diet, UNLESS I see a fast food commercial (especially at night ~ my former favorite time to eat it). And then I start thinking about it. But I don't think they've prompted me to go out and grab something. They make me want it, but my resolve against fast food is pretty strong now.
You speak chips and salsa, and I could be on it like glue. I honestly think that, that and Dairy queen reeses peanut butter cup blizzards are my worst enemy.
When I get the urge to snack with the kids, we have smores. there is just enough in a candy bar package to let each of us girls have one basic smore and joe (my 9 year old) to have 2 joe style smores. it is perfect. and it get's my sweet craving out of the way. and off I go to do baths and clean up after eating them.
i guess i should have clarified myself. i meant the Jewel (grocery store) pop up that happens everytime i log on this website.
i know Jewel is local to this area, but i believe it is part of the Albertson's grocery stores....
i didn't really like the toe fungus one, but at least that one CURBED my appetite.
hahaha.
i'm not faulting anyone, i understand you have to take advertisements where you can get them, i just thought it was funny to see huge pictures of chips and salsa when you log on a weight-loss/exercise forum.
I heard once that models eat chips and salsa when they want to snack. I think the peppers in the salsa is suppose to burn more calories. I don't know it sounds good anyway.
The salsa is fine. Try some baked chips or bake your own (cut up corn tortillas and bake until crisp...you can sprinkle with chili powder...or paprika if you are wimpy before-hand)...and be aware of PORTION CONTROL!
Salsa...yum...salsa with an egg white omelet, salsa as a dip for fresh veggies or poured over grilled veggies, salsa mixed into beans and brown rice.

You can have your salsa, and eat it too!
oh i know salsa is good for you (tomatoes have a ton of antioxidants, etc..)
i guess i was just being a brat because now i really want chips and salsa, maybe a margarita, and possibly other mexican food.
good thing mexican food is one of the easiest to make healthy.

If it's the same ad I saw, then it's very good for dieters It's a mouseover ad that shows recipes for 4 types of salsa. Three of them are fat free and low calorie, and they are all pure vegetables (one includes fruit), so salsa can be a great way to get in your veggies. For the chips, choose the baked tortilla chips so they have less fat. They are considered whole grains and can be good for you in moderation.
I'm planning to try the spicy mango salsa recipe. I think it would be delicious on grilled fish
