Secondly, I've always thought of Japan as a country without a lot people consciencely worrying about "dieting". I wonder if they are finding themselves gaining as a whole or if they're just trying a pre-emptive strike against national obesity?

Well, so they didn't do their background check on kidney beans- some people don't. I'd have to say they were a tad bit irresponsible but I can't blame them for more than that....

Lectin is nothing to play with. Kidney beans should be thoroughly cooked. I am surprised the homework was not done.
