We always stay at the Bellagio, and yes, catch the free water/light show! We really enjoyed a hypnotist that was a feature at the hotel...fun, fun!

Fremont Street!!! We had a blast and will stay there next time.

We started with dinner at Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse in the Golden Nugget- not to be missed! Their chopped salad was great (we shared) but I would have just eaten my filet mignon- there is no way you will make it to dessert.

After, we checked out the light show- cheesy but there was a kooky guy who had a choreographed routine that kept us laughing. The show is in the crowd!

We headed in the opposite direction of the Plaza to see the Neon Museum displays- they have installations all along the street but many are in a courtyard by a movie theater across from the Walgreen's: check out their website. It was awesome Old Vegas!

We gambled at the Las Vegas Club- cheap drinks and that seedy element you expect in Vegas, checked out the Poker Wall of Fame at Binion's, played a little Blackjack at Fitzgerald's while listening to a reggae cover band of chubby old white guys...

Do yourself a favor and stop into the Golden Gate. It is the oldest casino in Vegas, built in 1901, and they have a display of authentic old pictures (everything else tries to look authentic), old slot machines and the first telephone in Vegas. They also have the cheapest shrimp cocktail in Vegas- it looked a little sketchy!!! Not recommended.

Have a blast!

Love it!! That's it! I have a picture of me sitting on a rock outside of the outlet mall because there's a bunch of cacti around it. Lol I'm from Canada... I was very excited to see a cactus!

Re: feeling safe in Vegas... I agree that I wouldn't have my purse and wallet flashing about. But I felt really safe. The only time that it felt a bit sketchy was when I was in the old part of Vegas... freemont street, and getting off the bus at a Dirty Carls Jr... I was really looking forward to going to see the Golden Nugget, as there was a show on NBC a while ago about running the place. But I was really disapointed with it.

One night, we were looking for a place with some cheap black jack tables, because I was just learning, and I wasn't willing to pay $25 a hand... anyways, we ended up going into Boardwalk, and that was the only casino that would supply free alcoholic beverages. The casino was rather simple compared to the other flashy ones like the belagio and ceasars, but it was great! The drinks were flowing, and our dealer was a riot. He clearly hated his job and was paying out when he shouldn't have because he was mad about not getting his break. Anyways, it was a riot. And of course we lost track of time, as there's no clocks or windows! We came out and it was pouring rain and FREEZING outside! We had a far walk home to the flamingo. But hey, we won big, so we didn't mind. Lol I guess we could have taken a cab, but it didn't look like the walk would take that long!

My husband and I are going in May. Any suggestions for the adult shows? I'd like to see something showgirl-y but tasteful. I'm considering the Jubilee one that Linds mentioned. Also Buckwild sounds fun. Any suggestions?

I REALLY want to see Thunder from Down Under but I don't want to go by myself and hubby won't go with me

Our cab driver recommended the naked Cirque du Soleil "Zoomanity". I opted for checking out the restaurants instead of a show. That's more my kind of naughty!

Hey, what a coincidence! I'm going to Vegas on Saturday! I loved the water show at the Bellagio and we walked all over up and down the strip. Wear comfy shoes is all I have to say! If you're into thrill rides at all - go to the stratosphere! All of the rides on the top are absolutely terrifying - the kind of thing that I'm glad I did once but would would be happy to never do again. The bar in the stratosphere was also very fun - very entertaining bartenders! Most of all - enjoy yourself!!!

Hey liz!
I went to Vagas last fall, had a ball, DH was there for a golf tourney. I walked a ton, we styed at the Golden nugget, not great, but the light show was fun. One of the other ladies and I made it a plan to hit all teh rides, we did all of the coasters I also found this really fun indoor skydiving place down by the convention center. Big turbo jet engine blows you in the air like you are skydiving. I would do it again in a hearbeat. we did not do much late night stuff because of ealy golf, but I had a ball!

have fun, bring good walking shoes, the place is huge and overscaled so you have to walk a lot.
