I'm asking for a bread machine, a Mediterranean diet cookbook, a pedometer, homemade jewelry from my sister, the
Office Space DVD. My dad and his wife live out in the middle of nowhere and aren't very close to us, so they never know what to get us. And since they shop at stores like K-Mart (and don't really know our decorating/fashion tastes), I try to steer them away from clothing purchases. It's a highly impersonal and very commercial event with them.
Mom is taking me and DS to see the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas concert. I'm not sure where she came up with that one, but that's cool. Every year, she tries to give us an "event" gift instead of something that'll just sit around and collect dust.
I'm going with a book theme this year - every gift I give (for the most part) is going to be a book or two. DS is getting a copy of
