Hi everyone. I am new to this website. I was once 73 kilos which was pretty healthy for my height which is almost 1.7 metres. I am now overweight due to suffering from a broken heart and eating to calm my nerves. My friend suggested that the first step to losing weight is to find a weight loss role model that inspires you to eat healthy and train hard. It could be someone in your family circle or someone that you've never met before like a celebrity. Do you have a weight loss role model? What is it about this person that prompts you to work hard to become a better version of yourself?
There's been a few for me, but this guy is a big one for me. I have a habit of reading or viewing videos of people's success stories to keep myself motivated.
That's a good question. I like to read success stories to get myself motivated. I've known some people who lost a lot of weight, but most of them also regained. Still, I'd say my aunt because she is always on it and trying. I really admire Diana on this site, she posts the daily weigh in and daily accountability threads, she's a great example of sticking with your goals and adjusting as necessary.
He is not famous but my husband's best friend/best man took up crossfit and lost 180 pounds. He has stayed active in the circuit and married a nationally ranked crossfit competitor. They are a very fit and happy couple that has incorporated healthy food and activity into their quality time. Crossfit is not my thing, but I think the dedication and positive lifestyle changes are admirable.

Thanks Aunrio. I'm going to have to look up crossfit because I don't know what it is LOL. Sounds interesting
For me it's less specific. My role
models are here. Those who are
trying and keep up the effort.
No matter how much the loss, I
think it'sa challenge to just about
anyone in the weight climate we
currently live in. I admire all of you!

Jennette Fulda. I'm not sure if her memoir title is in conflict with the forum's guidelines for language/profanity, so I won't post it, but her book has always been really inspirational when I needed help sticking to a diet. Same goes for Stephanie Klein and her fat camp memoir.
