Fitbit vs. Polar watch?

I am debating on getting one or now. Initially I was thinking a polar watch, but now I am undecided?

It depends on what you are looking to track. I own both a Fitbit (2012 model, not sure of the exact name) and a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor.

I prefer my Polar FT4 because I like to do other things than just walk and climb stairs. I can't workout without it now. It tracks your calories burned really well.

I would consider the Fitbit more suitable for someone who isn't a huge gym goer and uses walking as their main source of exercise.

Agree with floralshorts. I own a fitbit and love it. It pushes me everyday to see if I can get in my 10k steps plus I am able to set silent alarms to take my medication on time and wake me up in the morning. My main form of exercise is water aerobics (not really a gym person here) so it works out well for myself.

Thanks for the input. How do you like water aerobics though? I am wanting to try it out.

I have only used a fitbit and I love it!! I like that I can set step goals and check it through out the day and see how I am doing. If I am not getting in enough steps I know I better get MOVING!

I have the Fitbit One - I clip it to the front of my bra and no ones knows I have it on :)

For me it's a lot of fun. My family always called me a fish out of water since I tend to flock to hot baths, swimming pools, and beaches. It doesn't get your heart rate up like cardio at the gym would, nor does it ever leave me sore, but I do notice a huge difference in how my body feels more flexible, relaxed, and loose.
