My mom wants to date again, HELP
 

Hi all,

My mom's been a widow for around 7 years after being married to the love of her life, basically.

My sister (who my mom lives with) just told me that my mom confided in her that she wants to date again..my mom is 70, fit and active. But she has no idea how to do that or how to go about it. From what i understand, online dating can be very effective (my Dh's friend just married a wonderful gal he met online)

Is there a really good senior site or very reputable online dating site? My mom is very out of the loop and naturally the family wants her to be protected and find what she's looking for. Also any advice for her would be welcome!!

I'm not sure about any online dating sites for seniors but what if your mom got active in the community? Joining some kind of social meet up in the area? just a thought :) good luck to her!

Geez ...everyone seems to be into online dating. It seems to work really well for a lot of people. I guess I must be absurdly old-fashioned, but I like meeting men In person right off the bat. I'm also a widow (9 years) and I'm in my sixties now. I have met several interesting men and I agree w/skinnygirldreams it is really nice if you can get out and do things that interest you. That way you are at your best, and can interface with people who are likely to be compatible. Just my take on the subject.....

Last month I attended the wedding of an 80 year old friend who found a man online of the same age. They married after a year, "At this age, waiting isn't a good idea." After listening to their two sets of kids speaking at the wedding, it sounds like an amazing compatible match. Just one success story to help assuage your concerns.
