Default Another scale thread- What do you recommend?

I apologize, I know this question is frequently asked and answered, but if you do a search on "scale" on this board, you get a gazillion posts to sift through!

I'm in the market for a new scale, and I don't want to spend a fortune. I love my scale, a Taylor, but I'm questioning it's accuracy.

What kind of scale do you have and why do you recommend it?

I don't necessarily want a scale that measures body fat, but if someone has one they really like, I'm all ears. I can always buy an Omron hand held for body fat measurements.

The only requirement for me is not having to "turn it on" by tapping it. I want to be able to just get on the scale and have it read.

I use a weight watchers scale, it records weight, fat percentage, water percentage. Its pretty good but you have to use it on a flat surface so its not so good on carpet but I like it.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale w/ Extra Large Lighted Display, 400 lb. Capacity and "Step-On" Technology [2014 VERSION] I had the old version of this scale. It was awesome. I would still use it if I hadn't have lost it in a house fire.

I replied to this one, I love my Tanita scale, seems that the body fat function is roughly accurate when compared to calipers:

Also this came up in a search:

PS In general , for searching for posts here, I have found the search box on the site to be nearly useless for various reasons. Another strategy is to open another browser window and search "3fatchicks" then terms like "scale" and "recommend", which will get you a few hits on threads. You can further restrict the search by adding the - symbol (for example, I added "-food" and "-kitchen" to limit to body weight scales). This trick took me a long time to figure out so hopefully it helps some

Ah-ha! Thank you for that gem of information! I'm sure there are certain key words that work, but "scale" would not be one of them! I love this! I'll try it next time! And thanks for the scale advice too!
