Default Boston Marathon Explosion.

Hoping we don't have have any runners from Boston who were injured at the marathon today! Sending love and light to all the injured and the whole area while they get everything sorted out.

They've found two more bombs.

So sad. God bless those poor people. Can't even imagine the chaos and sadness there right now.

Simply appalled by news of explosion at Boston marathon. How sick are we as humanity?

I can't believe this is happening. I know bombings are never rational, but I can't help but think why this event? Why runners? Why a celebration? My heart is in Boston right now.

This just makes me angry!! What has happened to us?? Why all this hate?? Sometimes I don't know if I'm getting older and more pessimistic or if the world is bent on repeating history over and over and over...

I started crying the moment I heard about it. So horrible. I thank God that my cousin who has done some of the big marathons decided not to do the Boston Marathon.

What is uplifting is to see all of the people running directly to the injured and jumping right into the danger in order to help. Photographers, runners, bystanders, police...all doing what human beings should do.

Such an aweful tragedy.

I'm not able to conceive how someone could come up with such an evil f***ed plan like this.

Right now, I am thinking about the people injured and the family of the lost ones, of course.

But, in a tiny part of my part, I am also thinking of all the runners who wanted this race so bad. Boston is such a hard race to qualify, some people try for 5 to 10 years before being able to get in! And all this life long dream of a runner is crashed because of a stupid wicked mind.

I'm disgusted

I was shocked to hear this! Who could do such a thing? I can't even imagine why anyone would.

I was in total shock when I first read this a couple hours ago. I can't believe it happened during a marathon! My thoughts are with the families and people involved!

I read that they are questioning a muslim guy who was found nearby. I sincerely hope that he or his race/community have nothing to do with it. I think there will be no going back if they are....their already fragile reputation will be destroyed...

Am I wrong? I live in New Zealand, so I don't know what the feelings are in America.

As far as I'm aware you are not wrong. I was in New Jersey at the time of 9/11. Unfortunately a lot of people there still blame Muslims as a whole rather than extremists. Someone once told me that we should lock up all Arabs, I told him that's offensive and exactly what we did in WWII with the Japanese. He did not think the situations were the same.

Anyway. I feel SO terrible for those runners. 4 hours after the start? That means that the serious runners were done and that these people were the one who had trained for months for this specific thing. I can't help but focus on how this marathon was probably so many people's dream. And then this happens. Runners lost their limbs. Some might never run again and words can even describe how sad I am for them.

Why runners? It wasn't like this was a political rally or a center of commerce. Why runners? It completely baffles me.

The Boston Marathon is run on the same day every year - the third Monday in April, to celebrate Patriot's Day. Not saying it's a reason, but it doesn't seem like co-incidence either.
