Ah, we don't really use checks either, except for Costco. It just involves moving the money online to the checking account before the shopping trip, which is a one minute process (max). It's still all nicely recorded in our online statements and budget program
. Otherwise we're a credit-only family, but the savings at Costco to our monthly food budget are SO huge (we're talking 20-30% less spent, easily) that it makes the inconvenience worth it. Your mileage may vary - in a state where the cost of food wasn't so high or we had good discount chains like Aldi I probably wouldn't use Costco so much!
