Believe I'm the only middle child to comment on this topic.
I don't think I really fit the so-called "middle child syndrome" where I feel like I'm the one that is left out and unloved. This could be because my other siblings are both boys and I'm the only girl.
I am definitely the the middle child as far as finding close relations with friends etc. I am different than my solder sister, but that is about it. I am not secretive etc. I was a black sheep with that did come from me and my from my parents.
However, I love my siblings and parents...and get along much better as an adult.
Now, i am a Taurus, and to that I am truly a match!
Interesting! I'm the youngest and totally fit the description.
My oldest child totally fits her description. My two middles fit the middles in their own ways. My last child fits more of the first child description. What??
I often say to my daughter, "Relax, first child! Don't sweat it. Just go with the flow and dammit! Break some rules already!!"
I am the youngest, and some of the descriptions fit me. My older siblings all say I was spoiled to some extent. I also love the limelight, and enjoy public speaking and making presentations in school, etc.
-tends to be secretive; very true. I don't like to open up to people with information that is too private.
-can usually read people well; true.
-peacemakers who see all sides of a situation; very true.
-independent and inventive; very true.
I feel like in the CBS article the youngest kids get a bad rap.
I'm an only although i did grow up with 2 of my cousin after my parents decided to adopt them due to their parents not being around so in a way i'm the youngest and also and only child if that makes sense lol i can relate with the perfectionist part i'm that big time and sometimes i'm a little hard on myself if i dont get the outcome i was looking for also can relate to the spoiled part i was very spoiled growing up stil kinda am lol
I'm the baby, and, oh man is this way off for me. I'm the least outgoing person I know. I think it's because my older siblings were real handfulls, so my parents were busy dealing with them while I was off destroying my self confidence.
I am technically the middle child in my family--I have an older brother, an older sister (granted, only by 20 minutes!) a younger sister, and a younger brother.
However, my older brother is 8 years older and was very independent so it was almost like my twin sister and I were the oldest. We certainly act like it, because my mom isn't very mature, haha [my little sister actually tells her friends: this is my mom, she's my sister. And these are my sisters, they're my mom]
So long story short: Nope, doesn't fit me at all XD
My family does not fit the birth order thing at all. My brother is the oldest and he has most characteristics of a middle child. My sister is the middle child and has a lot of the characteristics of the youngest. Whereas I am the youngest child and even my parents have commented on the fact that I am more of a leader and more responsible than either of my older siblings when it come to things like money.
I am not sure why we are all turned around concerning birth order and personalities but that just seems to be the way things turned out.
