One thing I should add that my surgeon pointed out - the stones don't go away, eventually you WILL have to have surgery. Whether it's a date of your own choosing or eventual infection, you can't ignore forever. Woman in my office managed to manage her attacks in her 40s until "they just stopped". However at age 60 she ended up hospitalized for more than a week after emergency surgery to remove the "dead" organ.

i was first told my gallbladder was "pretty full" in my early 20s. about 10yrs ago, i had ONE attack of cholecystitis and was told i was "chock-a-block", the attacks would keep coming, emergency, will robinson!!!!

i went to the dr's office (after he got back from 2mo vacation that he left for while i was still in the hospital doped to the gills and on massive IV antibiotics) and there were *fourteen* women in the waiting room, all there to have their gb removed. that was in a town with a population of 6500. i thought "this is crap!", left, and never looked back.

the worst i've had since was eating too much and getting a mild throbbing ache in that same area. i stop eating for the rest of the day, the next three days i eat no fat or oil at all, and that takes care of it.

That sucks that you can't do anything for it right now. But to avoid pain and damage make sure not to eat greasy foods at all (more diet encouragement) and spicy foods can set it off too. Take care of yourself! Hope you feel better.

I had gallstones when I was really young so I know that pain you're describing very well.. although I would always projectile vomit at the end of it haha, yikes. Better out than in..
