Exercise and NSV

  • This may be TMI but I wanted to share. I have been living a healthier lifestyle and exercising for almost a year now. When I first started I hated, HATED looking at myself naked in a mirror. I had FAT, dimply legs and thighs and my stomach could be used as a table.
    I still don't stare at myself naked but like what I see when I am sporting some sexy jeans and tops. This morning I got brave and stood in front for the mirror nakee for the first time in almost a year and it did not repulse me. While I still HATE my fat thighs, they are still too gigglely for me, but the dimples were gong and they do look better. My stomach still has a pooch but it does not look like a table and while I will never get rid of the stretch marks, they are lighter and not quite as noticeable.
    Still have lots of room for improvement and really working on building muscle and toning but I may allow my husband of 16 years to see me nakee at some point.
  • Yay for you!!!! You simply MUST start accepting your body for what it is. And I'm sure, POSITIVE your husband will want to enjoy your now much healthier body and will WANT to see it.

    Good for you for taking that big step to self-acceptance!

    I do not *love* my abdomen, but my belly is so much flatter than before and I look like I've just shrunk all over a bit (I gain weight everywhere rather than in one of two "problem" spots), but my husband is more and more taken aback by how I am looking.
