A lovely rattan basket that holds my cookbooks. My big loppers that I use in the garden. A box of chewing gum.

I have a useless little cabinet above the fridge, so there's not that much room.

I keep my slowcooker, my oven mitts and a can of air freshener up on top of my fridge.

Great question! I would love to have the type of fridge you have! That's what I want to get when we replace this one.

As for what's on ours, I'm too short to actually see it without being on a chair. Lots of dust, I know that. We keep the air popper there, crockpot, and a decorative bin full of outside dinner stuff (plates, cups & such). Stuff we don't use much, mostly.

If we could spare the space I'd put a fake decorative plant there to add some soft fluff to the kitchen.

A basket with fake fruit, for some reason.

Not very cute but we have our spice rack on top of our fridge and our oven mitts on top of that. We are both tall people who can reach things on top of the fridge.

The freezer is under the other counter top, not far from the sink.

It's a pretty standard arrangement in the UK to have them separate, though we're moving to a new place soon that's an integrated fridge-freezer. It has a freezer on the bottom, with a few drawers in it and a fridge on top.

It's still not American-size, with an ice maker, but it'll be nice to have them both in one unit again!

My large boxes of breakfast cereal are on top of my fridge.
And also my Corningware casseroles are stacked up there.
The items are just too big to get into my cupboards.

Bread machine and cereal boxes I have a small kitchen so it has to be functional space over decorative.

A white basket with DH's chips and things in it so I don't have to look at it and be tempted.

A HUGE picnic basket... I can't wait till spring! It collects dust in the winter, but we shine it up well come spring =)
