Sorry, this post is going to sound very TMI-ish and overly-blunt... I apologize in advance!
Assuming that bacterial vaginosis is actually what is causing the symptoms you're having...
Some women's bodies are much more sensitive to things that perturb the normal vaginal flora and fauna, and for BV and especially reoccurring BV, just about the worst thing you can do is try to apply home remedies.
BV needs to be diagnosed by a doctor (all you have to do is pee in a cup, and they can test from your urine) and treated with appropriate antibiotics, and doing so doesn't meant the infection will come back immediately or at all. There are different methods of administering the antibiotics (oral pills as well as vaginal suppositories in the form of gels), and if one doesn't eliminate the infection or the infection reoccurs, your doctor can prescribe another. If the infection continues to come back, there is also the option of a single, very strong dose of antibiotics taken orally that will likely rid your body of just about ANY infection you might be harboring. If you end up needing to go that route though (it probably shouldn't be what you try first, but is an option if the infection continues to reoccur), don't be surprised if you end up with a yeast infection that then needs to be treated as well. The normal yeast and bacterial in the vagina exist in a balance, and when you kill too much of one it makes it easy for the other to grow out of control.
Things you CAN do in terms of self-care to try to prevent future infections include avoiding baths and hot tubs, cleaning the area just with water or only a VERY mild soap, preferably unscented (just water is the best recommendation, but I can't bring myself to abide by that!!), and never, ever douching. If/when you are sexually active, urinate and shower as soon after intercourse as feasible, as semen is notorious for messing up the normal pH of the vagina. If you currently use any sex toys, either sterilize them or discard them and purchase new ones, as the bacteria can be reintroduced otherwise.
After a first BV infection at age 22 I dealt with it reoccurring for several years, and so have some experience in terms of dealing with it and figuring out what works to keep it from coming back. I know how awful it can be to contend with when it seems to come back again and again. See a doctor who will actually listen to you and is willing to help you. If reoccurring BV is truly the issue that is causing your symptoms, then there are definitely treatments that may work to eliminate it. I'm sorry you're dealing with this and I hope you can get things resolved.
