DH's company is dropping it's health insurance coverage!!

Now we have to look for a plan my husband, two daughters and I can afford. We have always had Kaiser through his company, but when I checked with them, they no longer have a family plan. We'd have to pay seperately and it is expensive.

Does anyone know of a family health plan (including dental and optometry) that's good and affordable? We can pay around $600 per month.

Advice and opinions much appreciated.

Sorry for your insurance issues. Hope you can get a good deal with some insurance company. Unfortunately, I know nothing about insurance ...especially since we don't have any (we only go to the doctors sporadically so for now it works for us-just pay per visit).

Are they offering Cobra? That is usually the least expensive option. Sorry you have to deal with this!

Juliana, no, they are not offering anything. They've had to make so many cutback during the last 2 years and let many people go. DH and I are grateful that he still has this job, but losing this insurance is scary.

But I will definitely look into Cobra. Thank you.

If the company has more than 20 employees, they most likely are required to give you an option for COBRA:
