Just an update, I've been clear of any rash for a good month or more, I'm still left with a random little red spot or 2, but no big rash or anything

I've noticed these seem to come up if I eat foods which contain wheat and yeast.
I am thinking of getting tested for an allergy or intolerance.

As I'm a vegetarian I often fall back on faux meat burgers etc, and they actually contain quite a bit of yeast, and I eat quite a lot of products with wheat in too. Also had good success with those drinking yoghurts which are supposed to have good bacteria or something in them

I think originally it was ringworm, but maybe the amount of oral medicine I had for it has interferred a bit!

I have very sensitive skin and get rashes easily. My doctor recommended Cetaphil cream (not the lotion, although I also use that at work for hand lotion) and it works incredibly well. Sooooooo soothing and it is something I can use liberally since it is just an over-the-counter cream. It keeps my rashes totally under control. I love the stuff!

I work for a veterinarian, and ringworm is a fungus. We see a lot of it in cats, it's very common in kittens, probably due to undeveloped immune system.

One way to tell if it is ringworm, we have this special light, you go in a dark closet, shine the light on the rash, if it glows apple green, it's ringworm.

The pills and creme you mentioned are the same we use to treat it in animals.

Left alone, it's eventually self resolving in most cases.

Sounds to me like you might have an allergy or intolerance. Also possibly you're immune system might be down for some reason, and things like shingles, hives and other rashes will show up if you're immune system is down and you're under stress.

On the laundry soap, I'd try a good hypo allergenic brand. Any laundry soap and all softeners heavily scented give me the most God awful rash, that will have me in the shower at 2a.m.

You could have a vet use the light on it and just see.

I get a rash on my back that is highly annoying in the winter, itches like crazy! But it clears up and goes away in the summer. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer and get plenty of sun, but around November, when the days get short and I'm not outside, Wham! I'm itchy. I do have some creme from the dr. that helps, but doesn't get rid of it. So, even though I don't think tanning beds are that good for you, I'm gonna try a a few "short" sessions and see if it helps to relieve it. Maybe a vitamin D issue? Got some vit D and been taking that, to see if it helps.

Good luck on getting it resolved. The itchiness bites.
