Karaoke Contest! Help pick a song!

  • Hey everyone! I'm doing a karaoke contest tomorrow night. The last one I did I got 3rd to a husband and wife who took 1st and 2nd! The one before that I got 2nd. I just want to win one lol!! I want some confidence and I feel I'm gaining that by losing weight. Now I just need the perfect song. My voice is well suited for country, but I can do other stuff. Give me some suggestions! Thanks everyone! I'll let y'all know how it goes!
  • hmmmm. How about the old Dolly Parton song Jolene?
  • Or another dolly Parton hit 9-5
    or Melinda lLamberts White Liar
  • I went on a cruise and Sweet Caroline was a real crowd pleaser...so much so that it was played every single stinking night! haha!

    That's what I was thinkin'......bum bum bum
  • Baby I Lied is a great song by Trish Yearwood. Very upbeat and catchy so if people had not heard it they would like it anyhow. Also, Thats What I like About You by her too.

"Forget" you by Ceelo seem popular. Rehab by Amy Winehouse is also popular but it doesn't have an intro--when it starts with one beat you have to come on in and start singing. Grenade by Bruno Mars is fun too.

To Sir With Love is another crowd pleaser even tho its old.
  • Awesome ideas!! I like the Trisha Yearwood and Miranda Lambert ideas so far! This is completely out of character for me, but I was also thinking You and I by Lady Gaga. It's not one of her crazy ones and it's got a fun beat! AH! DECISIONS DECISIONS!
  • "Walking After Midnight" by Patsy Cline!
  • How about Adele's Rolling in the Deep? There's a bit of a twang in that song even though it's not country, and it's a great song that really stirs emotions. No matter what you choose, good luck and keep us posted!

ETA: I just realized that the contest would be tonight--whoops! Let us know what you picked and how you did!

I hope you did well SUNSHINENMYSOUL

side note...EVERYTHING from Patsy is a winner! My parents had all her stuff when I was a child oh so long ago.

I play her music on our construction jobs sometimes. I have many guys that are Mexicans that have lived here for years....they love her too! I have had to copy many a cd for them

however, when they start singing her it's bad...soo soo bad
