Default Motivation of a different kind

I just replied to a thread on motivation to diet/work out/change lifestyle. I was all full of advice coz that's not a problem for me.

My problem is I need motivation to do anything other than work or work out.

I was supposed to compile a 3 year long list of expenses to my divorce atty 4 weeks ago. Court is coming up June 20something. I need to do it NOW. Yet here I am on this site procrastinating.

It is such a pain in my arse in so many ways I just don't wanna do it I can't even emphasize. I'd rather eat bugs right now.

I'm LMFAO because I couldn't think of the word procrastinate until a few moments after i wrote this. I originally wrote protagonizing. Then changed it to the correct word. BUt I LOL that my task is antagonizing me while I procrastinate. I think I just came up with a new word!

My previous new word was "complify". No definition needed.

I'm right there with you on needing motivation for other parts of my life: for me, it's writing my dissertation. Yesterday I took the step of starting a blog for it. Yes, on the one hand, it's a means of procrastinating, but on the other it helps me stay accountable, same as posting here or on my diet blog does. At least, that's what it's supposed to do. We'll see.

My suggestion would be to break the list of expenses into smaller chunks, and do a bit each day. It's like starting a diet: you don't go from eating 2500 calories a day to 1200 overnight; first you cut out the pop, then the chips and cookies, then the bread and rice, so that after a week committing to 1200 calories and low-carb or whatever isn't nearly the big deal it seemed at first.

Best of luck to you! And keep making up new words -- I love 'em!
