My family needs some prayers

I posted a threat about gall stones. Here's the scoop.

My grand daughter, Mel, (mother of my great grand daughter) has been in and out of the ER for the better part of a week. They finally diagnosed her with gall stones and admitted her in the late afternoon on Sunday. Finally, at around 5PM on Monday, they went in for the gall bladder. They found that she has a stone stuck in a duct. Mel must be in some of the most incredible pain in all her life. She's had to quit nursing her baby. I'm sure her husband is beside himself.

My daughter, TK, sent this:

"Saw GI specialist. There is at least one more stone, her liver is blocked & so is her pancreas. She now has pancreatitis. Procedure at 5:00 to try to remove stuck stone(s). If he can't fix everything, they will transfer her to UC Davis for more specialists. I appreciate all your prayers for rest & healing."

Please keep them all in your prayers.

I have put your grandaughter on my prayer list. A couple of years ago my daughter in law had to have emergency gall bladder surgery, she is fine , now, when she went to ER she said "Give me morphine , morphine first and then you can ask me questions ". I understand the pain that goes with it is terrible. I don't know if her case compared with your grandaughter. I will be be praying for complete recovery for her.

Prayers and good wishes go out to you and your family.

Pancreatitis is not an uncommon event with gall stones. They have to be careful of the contents of the billiary ducts so they don't spill into the abdominal cavity during surgery.

Be sure to update us when you have some news.

Thanks everyone. I'm still waiting to hear. I can't tell you how much the prayers mean to us.

Prayers MARE!

Here's what my daughter posted at around 7:30 this evening.

"Just to out of procedure. She's in pain, but with meds will hopefully sleep tonight. Stone may have passed into intestines cuz he didn't see it in duct. He put in a stent to help the biliary duct drain cuz its backed up. If she doesn't pass the stent it will be removed by endoscopy in 4-8 weeks. Will know tmrw how many more days in hospital. Thanks for your prayers."

Now, any medical people on here, please explain it to me. If it passes into the intestine, can it leave the body with little pain for her?

Praying for a speedy recovery..

Wishing her a fast recovery!

If the stone passed into her intestines, it should just go out with her bowel movement and not cause any pain.

Thanks for the continuing prayers. Here's the latest.

"Thank you everyone. Sounds like she'll be in hospital at least a few more days. I just found out that although pancreatitis is starting to improve, she can't eat or drink or go home until it improves MORE, so please add that to the prayers too, and pain relief & healing. Thank you! We are truly blessed by all your prayers & support & love."

At least there is some improvement.

She's going home. I guess the pancreatitis is under control enough and she is keeping food down so they let her go. I know she misses her baby.

I'll know more when my daughter gets in touch with her.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and good thoughts.

Continuing to pray for her that she will be completely well.
