Everybody could have their own little spongecake "shell" with whipped cream, strawberries, bananas, blueberries ect.

My mouth is already watering just thinking about birthday cake. It's crazy I know!
Have a real piece of cake than..At Vons, they make these giant squares of cake that are like 2 or 3 servings. Buy one, split it with a friend and once its gone, no more temptation! I'm sure you can get a smaller cake from any store with a bakery. If your only having cake one time, than indulge and get it out of your system. Its the only way I can keep from eating everything in my path to make up for not having the one thing I want.

I'm a nut for cheesecake, and found a sugar-free, crustless cheesecake option that worked pretty well. Asked for it to be made plain, then my mother-in-law provided chocolate syrup and cherries and stuff for everyone to top it with.

This past year was angel food cake. And I also like the trifle idea!

My favorite birthday cake for the past zillion years has been Boston Cream Pie. I just loved it.

When I started my journey some five years ago, I wanted an alternative, so chose . . . a birthday watermelon. DW cuts it half and puts candles on it. The kids no longer think it's nuts and look forward to it.

The carrot cake idea sounds yummy and can be fun to make!

How about using box of angel food cake mix and mix it with 1 can of crushed pineapple, that's it, then bake. My family loves it. It works in cupcakes too. Or if you like you can also take a spice cake mix and mix 1 15oz can of pumpkin, mix well then bake. YUM! Both of these are good with just some whipped topping on them.
