Jobs If You're Interested in Nutrition & Fitness

I'm looking at going back to school starting this summer. Any one have any thoughts on what would be good careers to look in to if I'm interested in health, nutrition, and fitness? They don't have to combine all, but I want a change from being a bookkeeper who's been sitting on her butt for 25 years watching it get ginormous. I'm sick of sitting all the time and need a new direction.

I'm going back to get my Nurse Practitioner degree in the fall and hope to one day work at a weight loss clinic or something!

You could do personal training or become a nutritionist. Physical Therapists have a fun job but I think you need a masters or phd for that. There are lots of options but I think becoming a nutritionist could be particularly rewarding :D

and, of course, you could become a nurse like me!

I have a degree in Nutrition and Food Science. It's a four-year degree, but if you already have a degree, then it will probably take 2 years to complete. If you want to be a dietitian, though, you need a year of internship to be licensed. At least, that was what they said years ago. I took the Food Science option, though, not dietetics, so I don't know much about that.

If you could get a job as an assistant to the dietitian, then you would have a ready-made internship. As far as fitness and health, I don't know. My friend went back and became a nurse. She really seems to like it.

I myself going back to school to be a fitness trainer in March! I think it's going to be very rewarding for me, and I am too interested in nutrition fitness and health.
There's many options; fitness trainer, nutritionist/dietician, gym teacher/sports coach, yoga instructor, kinesiologist, etc!
