  • Welcome to December!! Another month of great reads. Tell us all what you are reading?

I am still working on Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult
  • Hi Born To Fly!! How is Handle With Care?

I'm reading Angry Fat Girls, by Frances Kuffel. It's not doing anything for me, I've read better.

so far, it is quite good. Just don't have the time I wanted to read it. Gotta get on that listening to books wagon.
  • I'm doing a reread of EW Kenyon's The Power of Your Words.
  • The Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir and A History of the American People by Paul Johnson
  • Still on **** for the Holidays; on deck Six Geese a-Slaying by Donna Andrews
  • Ooh, Jodi Picoult is so my guilty pleasure. I read Handle with Care recently. I'm curious to know what you think when you've finished, BornToFly. I liked Keeping Faith and My Sister's Keeper; wasn't such a fan of Harvesting the Heart or Change of Heart.

I'm currently re-reading the Chronicles of Narnia. I'm just about to start The Horse and His Boy.
  • Fahrenheit 451...Ray Bradbury
  • Hi, everyone! I'd like to join you.

I'm reading the second of Nora Roberts recent Bride Quartet, Bed of Roses. I wish I had the third on deck but my local bookstore has run out.

On the nonfiction side, I'm reading Appetite for Profit by Michele Simon.
  • hey, i'm a geek and am currently reading the latest Wheel of Times book (The Towers of Midnight) that just came out. it's like carrying a freakin dictionary around, but it's pretty good!

i'm gonna need some new material once i'm done!! i'm all out of books to read!
  • Skipping Christmas...John Grisham
  • Just starting - Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex by Mary Roach (so far interesting and often hilarious, I think I'm going to have to read more of her books)

Also, rereading Harry Potter book 7 and just finishing up The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson (nonfiction about the Chicago World's Fair regarding politics, architects, and a serial killer - I found it incredibly interesting since I knew nothing about the topic, although the ending seems anti-climactic)

Looking forward to reading "Born to Run," "Along Came a Spider," and "The Age of Wonder."

    Overall, I'm apparently on a non-fiction kick
  • I finished Appetite for Profit: How the Food Industry Undermines our Health and How to Fight Back by Michele Simon. It's disturbing and discouraging, but has made me determined to share more about my efforts in various ways as something of a counterbalance to the commercialism of food and to do more in general to support the Slow Food movement.

Next up on the nonfiction front, I'm going to look through a cookbook I heard about on Splendid Table called Pure Simple Cooking by Diana Henry.

On the fiction side, I finished Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts (fun!) and have moved on to a YA novel called The Safe-Keeper's Secret by Sharon Shinn -- so far I'm loving the fantasy world that she has created.
  • Cross Fire...James Patterson
  • Looking For Alaska by John Green. I will most certainly be getting more of his books.
