Gum always helps me to calm down and focus.

It sounds so obvious, but focusing on your breath for several minutes - slow, even breaths - lowers your blood pressure and helps keep you chilled out

i'm teaching my daughter to drive right now...i suggest that you become familiar with the area where you are taking the test...if possible, go a few days before and follow someone who is taking the test...good luck!

Get lots of sleep the night before, eat a breakfast that involves a complex carb and some protein (simple carbs will make you sleepy so avoid!) and take the test in mid-morning (~10 AM) when there isn't much traffic. Relax, and remember that you do know what you're doing. You will be a lot more cautious having a person in the car judging you (seemingly) but don't worry, everyone else has been there. We've all been just as nervous and managed to pass. You can do it!

I just recently passed my driver's test, and what helped me was chewing gum like one of the poster's above and before my scheduled driver's test I followed one of the tester's through the driving course.
I just had this little chant in my head saying, "YES I CAN" the entire time.
good luck!

My number one tip is to breathe ! The person who tested me was super understanding of my being nervous, I guess they get a lot of people going through there with nerves. This probably won't help, but its really not as bad as some people make it sound, most of the people doing the testing are actually very nice
