Default An odd sort of rant about...

Breasts. Yeah, those things.

So, let me tell you where this whole rant stems from. I have large breasts. They're around a 42 DDD, but even those bras can be a little tight at times. Yeah, they can be a real pain in the butt most of the time. I get really bad neck and back aches that ALWAYS turn into bad headaches. But, they're mine none the less, they're mine, so of course I try to love them.

I also have a mother who has a smaller chest and always, always talks about getting chest implants. I find her starting at my chest most of the time and I've even walked in on her wearing my bras.

Recently, my aunt had breast reduction surgery, because she couldn't stand the back problems anymore, which is totally understandable. My mom ended up going with her to the surgery and seen her topless without the bra. When my mother got back from the surgery, she immediately described to me what she saw. "They were sagging! It was so disgusting and something she needed to do!" Now... my first thoughts were Well, YEAH they sag. She was a G cup, even a D cup has saggage and I know mine certainly do. It's called GRAVITY.

It honestly just set me off. I've heard a lot of similar comments in the past about large breasts, but this just topped the cake. I don't think people even know how real large breasts look like anymore, unless they have them. No, they don't look like balloons sitting on your chest, like people who have breasts implants. Breasts sag, you get stretch marks, your areolas usually get large and it's not uncommon to see large blue veins.

Not only that, but large breasts aren't always as fun as everyone seems to think they are. As I've mentioned before, I have a lot of serious back and neck problems because of my breasts. Bras only last my 6 months before I need new ones and they always cost a FORTUNE! Even though I've lost a lot of weight on my waist and hips, I still have to buy from XL just to have shirts to first my breasts.

I really hope people become less idiotic about this and start realizing the reality of what big breasts are. Sorry for the odd rant, but it certainly made me feel better.

i can't relate all that much to you and your aunt; my breasts are about a C. But they hurt! anytime i'm close to my tom or ovulating, they get sore and painful, it really sucks. I've had people ask me why they're not perky, even though i'm a C, they're still large and gravity is not kind! I have some back problems, and i can't sleep in certain positions because my breasts get in the way.

in summation, i'm not a fan of my large breasts lol. They are what i have though, and i try and make the best of it.

I'll join you in this rant! I am a 38DDD, I love having a large chest, and I think having large natural breasts should be appreciated! But young guys ogle fake breasts because they seem to NOT SAG, as far as I am concerned half basketballs are NOT SEXY. Large natural breasts should be held in higher regard in my opinion, and I hope you can learn to love yours...I am sorry about the pain associated with them though. I'm with you sister!

I gotta admit, I'm fairly envious of you ladies who don't experience any back pains. I think that's my only problem with having a large chest. Without the pains, I probably would love my large chest without relent. :P

But, I agree with you, mescelestus. I think natural breasts are %100 more attractive than those fake beach ball breasts. :/

I'm really worried that as I lose weight, mine will start looking like old gym socks full of pebbles. As they are now, they were 44 DDD, but they are starting to rattle around in my bra and are probably a 42 DD now. They sag a bit, but I'm proud of them. My husband thinks they are the greatest thing in the world. Most men aren't going to look at your breasts and criticize them, all they will be thinking is, "Yay! Breasts!" It's other WOMEN who seem to be the worst critics.

haha funny Sonata i always say they're gonna look like grocery bags with an orange at the bottom. i'm 44DDD. it sucks. they are not pretty. they hurt my back. most pictures i see of myself i just look like a wall of boobs. not to mention being unable to find a decent bra other then the ones in the box. i'd love a reduction but i also don't want my big fat gut to stick out more then my boobs... plus i think if i lose all the weight i aim to then what will they look like?!

@therex: i have the same problem with pain. i have fibrocystic breast changes. it freaking hurts. but there are things you can do to help. i've been taking vitamin E for it and it seems to have helped a lot. they say stop drinking caffeine but c'mon that is NOT gonna happen!

I had D cup breasts at my HW. They're a large B/small C now, but -- to a smaller (all puns intended) extent, I feel your pain.

When I had D cups, I had back pain, bad posture, and... well... they got in the way of almost everything and hurt like heck every time my clumsy self hit 'em on or against something.

They sagged a little bit. They're not 100% perky now, either, despite being a size or two smaller. I wouldn't bother to get a breast lift or anything, though, because we are all our own worst critics and in the end, men are just happy to see boobs. As far as the men who love huge, perky boobs best -- well-- they've just spent too much time watching porn.

On the up side, if you're overweight and have huge boobs, it can detract from belly fat. I know I had a decent-sized gut and love handles but managed to carefully hide it between overshirts and push-up bras.

Thumbs up I'm in total agreement!

I don't think you are ranting at all. After I had my child way back when all of a sudden afterwards, I got "boobs". My Mom (who has since passed away) took one look and asked "Where did those come from?" I dunno. Hormones? Anyway, from that point on they grew as the rest of my body grew. I was okay with them until they passed 42DD. From that point on, I feel they made me look really matronly and "dumpy". IMO, I have noticed younger women with really large breasts (44DD and over) and they look "aging". I just think it is about proportion.

I hope that I will have the money to get a breast lift when I lose all the weight. It is definitely on my "to-do" list. IMO, a pefect size for me is around 38C or D, maybe.

And, remember, they are really the only part of your body that you can't totally firm up with exercise either. Once stretched out, always stretched out. Now, how's that for bummin'???

I totally understand. I've dropped some weight, but I'm still a 38DD. My bra straps fall down now all of the sudden, so I know things are changing, but my cup size has stayed the same. I mean, I'd be okay if I went to like, a 36D or even a C... Some day.

Yeah..I have that same issue...I'm in a DDD as well, and I ALWAYS look fat because of my large boobage. But if I lose weight, than the beach call of a belly will take over. I feel like they do a balancing act on me, and gives a nice hourglass shape. Can't live with them, and can't live without them either. lol

I feel the pain!!

I'm a 34DD, which is not so bad and my 34A roommate is quite jealous in fact... but man are they a pain to carry around with you everywhere! My trouble has always been finding shirts that fit. I'm usually a large around the chest and a medium or so around the waist, and shirts that fit in the chest will always look baggy around my middle, while shirts that fit in the middle will always be pulling around the chest!

I feel like I can't find good button-down shirts that fit me all over. I've found a solution though where if I can find a cute medium-size button down, I can wear a fun tank top underneath and just leave the top half unbuttoned for a nice layer effect. But I really wish I could button shirts all the way up... it's almost impossible to find shirts with good darting.

T-shirts are worse. Even women's fit. And don't get me started on "unisex" - more like "for people who are shaped like boxes."

I agree, I think anything natural such as large breasts should be held in high opinion. I heard somewhere that large, surgical implants are going out of style, by the way. I just worry that my Bs will shrink to As when I reach my goal. My mom says I'll grow but I've been a B cup since I was about 12..still there and I'm almost 16.
