Default ? for the mods regarding banned subjects and ads.

I know that politics is tabu here. I get it and I understand why. However, there are ads here telling me to vote for Prop. 16. Can we have a discussion about it since there are ads? I'm asking before I voice my opinion.

The ads are served to us, and we have no control over them. Often they are keyword based, though I'm not sure what keywords would be triggering that ad - it might be geographical, given that you are in CA.

Since a) Prop 16 only applies to our CA members and b) politics violate the rules, I don't think a discussion here would be relevant or appropriate.
