Whatcha Reading Dec '08?
I can't believe it's Dec already! What are you reading this month? I have about 200 pages left of Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. It's VERY good.

OMG it is December! I just posted in the November thread. Oh well.
I mentioned in the other thread that I was at Costco yesterday, looking through all the stacks of books, and I couldn't find anything that appealed to me. I may have to resort to some of my kids' books as soon as I am done with The Other Queen by Phillipa Gregory.

I'm currently reading and enjoying The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling. I love seeing what everyone else is reading, even though it causes my TBR list to grow much faster than I could ever keep up. =)

Oops, I posted in the November thread as well. I won't retype the whole thing, but I just wanted to say I finished Anita Shreve's A Wedding in December and really liked it, and now I'm reading Book #2 in the Queen Betsy vampire series by Mary Janice Davidson -- Undead and Unemployed.

As I said in the other thread, I'm currently on Murder with All the Trimmings by Elaine Viets (one of the Josie Marcus, Mystery Shopper cozies).
After that, in my queue are Santa Clawed (Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown), Dashing Through the Snow (Mary & Carol Higgins Clark) and An Irish Country Christmas by Patrick Taylor (I do know there's another book of the same name by *Alice* Taylor): I haven't made up my mind yet which one to go to next, or just might go back to rereading something grittier like Slay Ride (Chris Grabenstein) or Hush, It's a Game (Patricia Carlon) (and yes, those last two are set during the Xmas season)

I just finished The Front by Patricia Cornwell. I enjoyed it but it was a very quick read. (I started less than 12 hours ago and I did a lot of other things besides read) I also finished You: On a Diet which was very educational. I think I'll check out The Other Queen that was suggested for my next book.

Nourishing Traditions
Childbirth without fear; the original approach to natural childbirth
Home oriented maternity experience : a comprehensive guide to home birth
And maybe some more on birth. I put a bunch on hold at the library.

I'm working on Roger Zelazny's Amber Chronicals. I just finished the first book and am starting number two tonight. Very weird but interesting read.

Right now I'm just reading some diet books I have lying around including The Beck Diet Solution and Bob Harper's Are You Ready!
I think tomorrow I'm going to pick up Tales of Beedle the Bard, but that will be a quick read. I have The Lord of the Rings trilogy on reserve at the library, so I'll start that once it's ready to be picked up.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I'm fixing to start reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire and Only the Strong Survive by Larry Platt (biography on Allen Iverson).

Stones from the River by Ursula Hegi. A very good book about a dwarf girl in Germany between WW1 and WW2.

Hi all!
I read that book by Ursula. Did she write other books about the dwarf girl? I thought that she had.
I'm doing a lot of audiobooks now as I have a long commute to work. I'm going to be "reading" Dean Koontz books this month.
I also have recently read two books of the "Sisters of the Quilt" series by Cindy Woodsmall. Its about an Amish girl. I should be getting book 3 from the library this month.
